Makes rigging up my line so much easier
I love this for when I need to put my pole down quickly to get something out of my tackle box, go get a drink/food, etc. It also makes it much easier to rig my pole without having to lean the pole against myself or something else. Pro tip: put it in the ground at a slight angle (maybe 15-20 degrees but not so much that it's annoying to put the rod into it) angled away from the water. This allows the line to hang slightly away from the rod which prevents it from wrapping around the pole if it blows in the wind or moves from something else. The angle away from the water also means less chance that a big fish would pull your rod out of the holder :)

Built absolutely fine, but these do not fit anything bigger than a light action pole. Both of my medium heavies are way too big.

Great for most freshwater fishing
It’s extremely sturdy, I cannot bend it with my hands. Paint also doesn’t rub off easily and is nicely coated so it won’t scrape the end of your rod, works well for most rods, but note it isn’t made for bigger ones. A 6 ft ugly stick tire perfect. The diameter of the whole where the end of the rod can be put is about 1.5 inches. From the bottom to the top, the entire rod holder is about 13 inches tall. Easy to put into ground, as it’s made of metal seems high quality. Perfect for trout fishing, etc. ocean rods will not fit in it, nor would be ideal, bc due to the height, it would only hold a small part of the rod. Perfect for most freshwater fishing. When the rod is in it, 4.5 inches of the end of the rod goes down into the corkscrew. Feels sturdy and holds rod well, high quality product. One of the best cheapest products, It works well for hard shore, like rocky sand etc

Almost Lost My Pole!!!
The media could not be loaded. I really loved this heavy duty spiral pole holder, but the dirt I was using it in was either too compact or the dirt had rocks under the surface causing the metal to weaken every time I attempted to insert it into the ground. One of my fishing rods had a rubber piece built on the end that would not fit inside the holder and the rods that did fit into the holder fit so snug that the rod holder stayed stuck on the the fishing rod every time I picked up my rod. On the third day of using this rod holder, I attempted to insert it into the ground with my foot "one time" since the ground was so hard and a few more insertions "by hand" into the ground later is when it snapped in half when a Bonnet Shark got ahold of my hook. This was my favorite pole holder compared to the other style that I've tried, but I've lost confidence of trusting it to hold my fishing pole after seeing the strength of the metal and nearly losing my fishing rod.

Good item, just make sure to measure the width of your pole.
Solid,sturdy, but sadly too small in width for my 8 foot cat poles. Quick refund, would recommend for those not using larger poles.

prop it up as best I can and hope that whatever bites my line ...
I've taken this with me on several fishing trips and found it a delightful addition to my gear. It doesn't work where the ground is particularly rocky (obviously), but in every other circumstance it has been a real asset. Normally I pile a few rocks on my rod, prop it up as best I can and hope that whatever bites my line doesn't get too far with the whole rod. It works, but it's a hassle and there is always the nagging thought at the back of my mind that I didn't wedge the rod into the rocks "just so" and something is going to go wrong. Now I just shove this in the ground and set my rod in it, leaving my hands free for beer and books!

Sturdy and good fit for most rods
Cannot be happier with this - sturdy, rigid, good diameter, strong enough to be pushed hard in tough soil. A clear win.
