Soft and comfy BUT too big

I liked these shorts and wanted to wear them around the house but they were too big. I got the wrong size when I shouldv'e went with my normal one. Clothing on here is usually smaller than what I really am so that's why I went up one. I'm sure w/ me being pregnant I couldv'e worn them but I think they're in storage and plus the weather is getting cooler here so it'd be pointless to wear. I had to tie them really tight but don't think it's worth it. Not sure if I'd recommend anyone to buy them but if you get the right size I'm sure they'd be fine.

Heavier set of sweat shorts- versatile!

Great shorts for working out or lounging.. with the ability to wear in public without looking like your still in your jammies! Imagine a full length sweat-pant cut into shorts and finished with a rolled edge- yep! That is what these are!! Material is a heavier gauged cotton and makes for a thicker pair of shorts for sure.. just don’t expect light, wispy summer pj’s in an airy cotton material! These have substance like an old school pair of gym sweat pants cut-off and cuffed! Note: this material will shrink- I suggest washing on cold and if shorts are big, run these thru wash/dryer cycle on warm.. shrinkage is approx. 1-1.25” all around **BUT- line dry if you’re sizing is accurate. Loving the wider 1”+ waistband with the elastic inclosed and covered, it’s super comfy- (Great for helping hold in any tummy trouble spots.. and I’m loving that!) and with drawstring placed on the outside of shorts- it lets you adjust the waist for a perfect fit. Loving the 2-tone drawstring, (Gray short /white string) its the smallest touch that adds the perfect detailed finish. Yesss!!! The cuff is rolled about 1/4” and yesss!! It is tact to the shorts with stitching. (Some items when photographed will roll a sleeve/cuff to show option and versatility..) But, this is the real deal and its been stitched @ the outside seam. I’d prefer the straight leg finish- (I included a photo to show why..) After washing, it can be hard to keep the cuff from becoming rolled or, disheveled.. especially with just one tact point. Not a dealbreaker- but, I want to make you aware. This is soft material in silver gray.. the interior is the white we’ve come to know on the opposite side of true gray sweats.. This is a fun contrast and even matches the tie string perfectly. IF... you can get the cuff to lay flat! (See photos included) Spalding is a solid name and sold at a decent price point. After washing 1/2dzn. times- I’ve had zero issues with piling or, extra wearing of the material.. Quality I’d expect with this brand. Sizing runs just a bit bigger- But, its also what I’d expect using sweatshirt material.. a ‘bigger’ more relaxed look and feel is on par with this style and fabric. If, in between sizes… I’d recommend sizing smaller- if wanting a nice, fitted look. If, wanting a relaxed oversized look and appearance then, size up- you can always wash/dry and adjust at waist with drawstrings. I do hope this info can help your decision… Feel free to let me know!

Large is actually large

These are thick, which my girlfriend loved as she didn’t want thin ones. Her size is usually medium-large, pant size 9US, waist: 31”, hips: 42”. The last time I got her shorts, they were too small, so I ordered large. This was the first time that large was actually large. She was very surprised, since she said she would have ordered a large as well. The leg holes were very large & she felt like her butt cheeks were exposed with how wide they were. The waist band fit her fine. It wasn’t tight nor loose, it was just the leg holes she had issues with. Luckily, she has taken up sewing since covid. She was able to cut and alter the crotch/leg hole area & downsize the shorts (online videos are life savers). They now fit her normally and she loves them. The quality is great.

Leg holes are too wide for use as workout shorts but I still love their comfort

These shorts are super comfortable and almost sweatpants thick. They have an elasticized waist with a drawstring cinch. I ordered a large but should have ordered a medium as they are a bit big on me. Nevertheless, even if I ordered the medium, the pant leg opening is wide, so I do not consider them "safe" for a workout because my underwear shows if I bend over. Nevertheless, these are perfect for bed or just for wearing outside as long as one is bending over. The current price of $17.86 is reasonable for this for a size large. A medium goes for $29.93 which is expensive.

Bulky cuffs and belling legs.

While these look good on the model I found they were really unflattering on me. The legs belled out to the sides weirdly making for an awkward fit and look. Meanwhile the cuffs are heavy, bulky and felt really uncomfortable when my legs were pressed against one another. The fabric is great quality and they're well made but they're not ones I would buy again.

A bit itchy, very robust

Vital statistics (large): Before washing, these shorts have a 32" waist and a 2-1/2" inseam. After washing they have a 30" waist and a 2-1/4" inseam. These are thick for shorts, but pretty typical for athletic shorts. The drawstring is string, not tape, but actually has an oval cross-section, which is a nice touch (less likely to untie). The inside is a bit itchy, but I expect that to soften over time. The waistband takes a long time to dry. They're shorts.

I’m 5’8” 155 lbs and I was sent a large and they’re HUGE. A medium likely would’ve been a little large on me but that would’ve been perfect. They’re like a terry cloth/towel material so not super soft. But comfortable to say the least

Super comfy and sporty.

These fit a bit large. The leg openings are very large. They almost look like a skirt. There is definitely a lot of freedom of movement in these shorts. I still like them despite this.
