Size up. Great for lap swiming. Very comfortable and modest for the style of swim wear, but also not very fashionable.

I bought these shorts for a indoor sprint tri that my local gym was hosting. I've never swam competitively before, but I knew I didn't want brief or bikini style Speedo and I certainly knew that my normal loose style swim shorts would not work. I tried them out today doing some laps to figure things out and they worked great. The trunk style makes me never want to go back to typical baggy swim shorts with a liner. The style is so much more comfortable and easier to swim in. With that said, I do have some comments. I normally wear a size 32. I ordered a size 34 first and found them to still be to tight. I'm pretty lean and physically fit, but even one size up was uncomfortably tight around the waist and thigh bands. I re-ordered a size 36 and found them to fit better. The fabric cut really flattens out the front and prevents any sort of a significant bulge. If you are trying to be modest, no one will be seeing the outline of your goods with these shorts. The legs do tend to ride up once you start moving, walking or swimming. This could be as a result of buying two sizes up, I don't know. However, this didn't cause any discomfort while swimming. Lastly, for this style swim wear (square cut swim trunks), this is probably the most modest style/cut you can get. Because it tends towards the modest side, you could probably get away with wearing them in casual beach situations in more conservative areas. But, they are also not very “fashionable” and scream lap swimming. If you looking for something that is more fashion oriented beach wear for exotic location vacations, you probably want other brands of square cut swim trunks.

Speedo still makes an excellent, very durable short trunk for sprinting.

Love the short trunks: way better for sprinting and general comfort. I ticked "Fit As Expected" because unless you're ripped at the time, they ALL seem too small. They will relax a bit, though, and do put 'em on wet for a bit more ease. These are if anything, more durable than ever. They really hold their fabric and color day after day. Granted, they are heavily built, thus not too stretchy. I've found Speedo to be my go-to for 20 years, and I'm grateful I can find the shorter trunks, as the long ones just feel klunky to me. Great lasting, non- flashy workout gear! So happy they're not day-glo orange.

Not ideal

Purchased a 30 based on size chart recommendation, typically wear a 32 in brief swimwear. It fits but is very very tight and uncomortable to wear swimming. Recommened going up one size

Runs a bit on the small side

Ok, first off, I am not a prude nor am I an exhibitionist. I don’t like super big and baggy swim trunks, nor do I like a tight little skimpy thing showing off my junk. These are pretty much down the middle. The first pair I ordered were a bit too small. I returned (no issues) and went up a size. Perfect fit. Straight across the waist and across the leg. Yes, if you were to stare for a while, you could probably make out my junk. So be it. If it bothers you that much, get in the gym and put a body in these and wear them proudly. If you have a massive beer gut, then I would not recommend these for you. But then I wouldn’t recommend the entire beach for you.

Complete review from 5'8" 155 lb fit asian male

Sizing The most important points about this are to order one size up from what the guide tells you. This is not because I am an inexperienced swimmer, I used to swim competitively. I know speedos are supposed to be tight to reduce drag. I am 5'8" 155 lbs and I am fit (read I have 6 pack). I'm saying this to show off and also so you know what my point of view is. I do squats and deadlift, and my thighs are naturally pretty large. I think the 8% body fat I have is gathered on my innerthighs. I wear levi's 513's size 30 with the waist being perfect (read I can put 2 fingers in the waistline snugly), but the thighs are a little constrictive. So my thighs ARE a tad larger than average. I ordered the size 32 of this speedo. A little difficult to put on and that put my mind into already thinking it was too tight. Waist was perfect, don't really need the drawstring. My buddies down there were nested and protected by the liner; comfortable. The only thing was the leg openings seemed a tad too tight. There was a SLIGHT sausage effect that I only noticed from staring in the mirror and feeling around my thighs. But again, my thighs are a littler larger than average. My friend who swims on the Macau national team told me that it would loosen a bit in water. I trusted him and cut the tag. I am writing this after a swim session and he was right. the speedo was really comfortable and I think it is a perfect fit. Material polyester PBT blend seems the most long lasting on the market. They stretch, but it is not a super easy stretch like you get with spandex compression shorts. Material seems really durable. Speedo logo is embroidered which is nice. Cut The square cut is perfect for me. The leg openings do ride up slightly on the thigh. But I wear boxer briefs and this is a familiar and actually comfortable feeling. More modest than a brief speedo, but still lets me swim freely.

Runs very small

I’m 5’7”, 150lbs. Usually wear a 30x30 or 32x30 regular pant. I bought the size 34 and it was way too small. Consider going 2 or 3 sizes up!! The material is also very thin fyi. Other square legs I’ve bought were thicker and I like them much better.

Perfect when ordered from Speedo

I'm a woman who has worn the mens square leg for years - for exercise, swimming, sleeping, under sundresses etc. The waist size is correct. There is a panel in front for the Package buy I found it prevents Camel Toe just as well. They last forever. Only every bought from the manufacturer and just ordered by my current waist size. Never a problem.

Fits Small, somewhat high waist

Thanks to other reviews I bought size 36 and they are still a bit snug - I normally wear 34. I'd say the overall fit is average - the waist is a bit higher than I expected - but overall they are fine and comfortable to swim in. I've only worn these once so I can't comment on durability.

Excellent packaging and in time delivery .... The size is too tight. I do order one up size and see if it is right. SPEEDO is my reference since decades. So I can recommend it even I do get a size up and see.

Fits very tight

I ordered the correct waist size but the fit is extremely tight. The feel of the fabric on the skin is coarse. May be good for competitive swimmers or divers but if you want comfort order a size up, or not at all.

Product is nice, however if you are the seller, a kindly remind: CHECK YOUR SIZE 30. Please DO NOT buy that specific size cause it's way too small.
