I ordered the socks due to the low price - I expected one pair but upon receipt there were 2 pair - packaged and sold together. The listing doesn't specify you'll be getting 2 pairs which was even a better deal. As for the sock - I was surprised how heavy and THICK they are. They also have a sort of white terry (?) inner lining. I ordered these for next winter so can't say anything about durability or warmth yet. I just wanted to get the info about coming in 2 pairs posted asap. The only concern is that I wear a shoe 11.5 and - per their sizing chart - ordered Large. They fit very snug - which is a great fit - but if you wore a 12 you might want to go with an XL. And if they shrink after a wash they may be too tight for an 11.5 - when I wash mine I'll update. According to the sleeve they are packaged in: 81% Merino Wool/10% Nylon/7% Polyester/2% rubber Size chart: Men's 3-5.5 - S 6-8.5 M 9-12 L 12.5-15 XL Made in China

These are not the same as the old ones, itchy and scratchy.
I ordered these years ago, and I agreed with some previous posts about the comfort back then. HOWEVER, now, these newer ones that I recently purchased are extremely uncomfortable. I rip them off in seconds after putting them on. I can't wear them at all because of the scratchiness.

These are a pretty heavy sock so dont by them for the summer you wont like it. They are very solid design wise and i like them for the winter.

Super soft and thick lined. Not for hot weather unless you need a good cushioned sock for hiking.
These are the most comfortable socks that I have in the drawer !
