I would not order this again. It's way to small unless you are maybe sharpening fish hooks.

As stated above, it's way too small for use on regular kitchen knives.

Needs to be broken in

I bought this after watching all of the trend sharpening videos. It definitely doesn't work like they show in the videos. I've had a Smith diamond sharpening tool that I bought from Lowes 6 years ago that actually leaves a cleaner sharper edge. Its really rough for 600 grit and leaves a scratched up edge. I can actually get a sharper knife by running it through the little plastic knife sharpener that the Trend videos tell you not to use! This rates up there with all those {As Seen on TV} products.I am a wood turner and use other diamond and CBN products to sharpen my turning tools so I am no stranger to diamond sharpening. The white cleaning block actually cleans this sharpener but leaves a smudgy sticky film on the 600 grit side of the credit card sharpener. They are both supposed to be 600 grit but the 600 grit side of the credit card sharpener is much smoother and does leave a slightly better edge. *** Update *** After trying this file on several different types of blades it has gotten markedly better with age. Apparently there is a break-in period with these items in where they are overly aggressive when new. I can now recommend this sharpener but I would break it in on something besides your fine bladed knives to break it in.

Nice small form factor. One side flat, opposite side slightly convex. Tapered shape a plus.

Nice but very small

It was very small. I read the size numbers but still thought it was smaller than expected. Will do the jobb. Mainly for molding planes and sharp tools.

Great little sharpener...

A bit pricey, but it does a great job for smaller edges, fish hooks and etc that's for sure. I liked the handle is riveted through the blade....a sign of quality for sure. So in the realm of you get what you pay for....it rates well.

Trend DWS/TF3M/F 3-Inch Diamond Tapered Mini File

The item arrived very quickly indeed as part of an order all placed in one box. The file packaging was damaged. It looks like it had been previously opened then badly taped up. I did wonder whether it was a pre-owned/returned item. Upon inspection, the tool looks new and unused, so I have decided not to return it. I have yet to use it to be able to comment on how it performs, but it looks no different from other diamond files I own. I therefore see no reason why it should not perform just as well. Overall, I will purchase again.
