Funky ON/OFF switch, Excellent customer service
After 4 months the ON/OFF switch quit (stuff happens). Contacted customer service, got quick response and they replaced it with an upgraded model, immediately. Recommend the Vee Gee IP67 over this model. Happy customer

Accurate, dependable, and economical. Highly recommended.
A great value for a product that may be at risk. If you don't want 200 bucks of lab thermometer at the bottom of a tank of nasty stuff, or walking off (as pocket sized instruments seem to do on occasion), this is a great daily use device that gives reliable information. Far superior to the big name food checkers. I also tried those cheap battery panel type, and of a dozen, one was DOA, the rest read within a degree of each other, but that number was about 3.6 deg F high. After a month, they drifted and no longer agreed. Incorrect by 4 to 6 deg F is unacceptable for my work. This thermometer is the "room standard" and agrees with the high end panel controllers (100 ohm RTD) within 0.8 deg F or less. Even the good stuff is 2 or 3 tenths apart most of the time. It's repeatable and dependable. I took 1 star off "easy to read" because of auto off and a smallish display, which are a user preferences. If a double press would lock it on, it would be nearly perfect for my needs (as it is now). I'm going to order a couple more shortly. If only I could leave them in the tanks and just look thru the window to check temps, I'd order a bunch, one for each tank (7 and rising), but that's a specific use thing. Bottom line: Highly recommended!

Ordered two - one of them works
Having read the customer reviews it sounded like a good product when it was working, so I ordered two. Sure enough, right out of the box one worked the other didn't. The one that doesn't work appears to be "on" when I put in the battery, but doesn't respond to either the F/C button or the on/off button. Will be sending it back. The other one seems to work fine but I've only had it on for about 5 minutes. I should also note that the information on the packaging indicates an accuracy of +/- 1 degree Fahrenheit. I see reference in some of the other customer reviews to higher accuracy levels. I'm not sure where those come from. I wouldn't place +/- 1 degree F in the "Ultra-high Accuracy" range, but the price is low, so +/- 1 degree F is probably reasonable if the device buttons and battery will work. Looking at the reviews it seems the purchaser would need to be prepared to send a fairly high percent of those delivered back, so the overall cost, equal to the product cost plus the cost of one's time returning defective equipment, may put the low product cost in a different light.

Haven't Found a More Accurate Thermometer for the Price
Thermometers that are accurate to 0.1C generally cost hundreds of dollars. I was pretty skeptical that this one could even achieve the 0.5C that's advertised, but I recently compared this thing against a high end, calibrated thermometer with 0.1C accuracy and it consistently read the same temperature as the fancy device. That's pretty amazing for a thermometer that costs under $25. People who are subtracting stars for the price or the build quality don't know what they're talking about. This is an amazing thermometer for what it costs. Just be careful around liquids, the electronics are not really waterproof. Only immerse the measuring probe, or you'll be buying a new one.

Buyer be aware
The reason for not a 5 start overall review is due to the items are arriving with dead batteries after going through and reordering replacements I decided to install a brand new battery and it started to work it’s a very accurate thermometer but don’t work too well with a dead battery.

Very accurate for recording aquarium temperature but $$$
This thermometer is very accurate for using in my 20 gallon high freshwater aquarium, but is TOO expensive! I paid $23 for it but would rather have paid around $15 ish.

Right out of package its had a dead battery
Right out of package it had a dead battery. Everything else i have ever purchased has had so sort of paper or plastic keeping the battery from making contact with terminals, but not this. The packaging is designed so that the on button can be activated in shipping. Even if it works after i get a new battery it will not have been worth the price. If you are going to order this make sure you also order some LR44 Batteries or do yourself a favour and order the Cooper Atkins thermometer. In my mind due to this inconvenience it will never be worth more than 1 star. Pictures show the packaging

Came with dead battery and buttons don't really work
The battery it came with was dead after replacing it, it did turn on but the buttons are terrible. It's hard to turn on and the °C/°F button doesn't work at all.
