Great cut, bad pockets

First, I love the cut of these. It is so hard to find tac pants that are not high rise, which I've never liked. They fit well, and the vapor core technology is not a gimmick. I can ride my motorcycle in freezing conditions or 100+ degrees and my legs stay perfectly comfortable. That said, the pocket placement on these is poorly thought out. The thigh pockets (all four of them) extend too far around the side of the thigh, allowing anything put in them to get pinched between the underside of the thigh and the calf muscle any time you crouch. They also extend too far down, causing items placed in them to rub against the top of the knee. There are no good pockets to stick a pen, pencil, or other such device in; the larger pockets cause them to fall sideways, and the netting inside stretches out very easily. Before these I had a pair of CQR Flex pants. If the Fusion LTs had the pocket placement of those, they would be the apex of pants.

Quality control issues

Use pants for work, lightweight and tough. Serious quality control issues, ordered multiple pairs every single one of them fits different. I have a tailor that fixes it so not that big a deal and I don’t like that pay extra to fix and sending them back is a gamble.

Go 1-2 sizes larger in the waist.

I originally bought my first pair directly from Vertx. I ordered my normal size which is 34W34L. I have 5.11 pants in that size and all of my jeans are in the same size. The 34 length was perfect. The 34 waist was so tight I couldn’t button them. 36 seems to be ok, I could probably go up 1 more size even. I’m average build 6’3 and 210lbs. Not sure why my normal size doesn’t fit.

These are not Fusion LT pants

What I got was not Fusion LT pants, they were the Phantoms. The tag says Fusion but the label on the pants clearly states Phantom. I guess that is what I get for ordering from Amazon.
