Nice looking placemats but horrible quality

I love Villeroy and Boch manufacture rock series. I bought several dishes from this collection. I was happy to find the matching mats, they really look good. The problem with them is the horrible quality. It says on the instructions that stains should be removed with damp cloth only. So it never works! I used the mats only once. My husband’s put his tea cup on the placemat. the stain from this cup couldn’t be removed the next minute it appeared. Totally disappointing experience. I hope I did not buy a fake.
