Good cheap pirate costume

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a costume for Halloween and I needed to be a pirate. Doing so for less than $25 is near impossible when purchasing your costume. This costume is cheap and I'm not sure how many times I'll be able to use it, but it will get the job done this year, which is all I need. I'm not trying to win any costume parties. The shirt is thin and roomy. The sleeve cuffs will definitely help make the sleeves less poofy, but I will need help tying the cuffs. The string also seems to have already begun fraying and seems short, so it may be wise to replace with a shoelace as other reviewers have mentioned. The pants don't have a belt and the one provided with the outfit is super cheap. I'm not sure if I'll wear a real belt underneath it. The pants also don't go all the way down to your ankles so you'll need to wear the boot cuffs or look like a pirate expecting high seas. I don't intend on wearing the bandana, but it's not printed on both sides. No smell mentioned in other reviews for my costume. This also arrived in less than 24 hours which is super helpful considering other costumes wouldn't arrive before Halloween. Overall, I'm happy with the costume for the price. It does what I need and was at a price I was comfortable paying. You get what you pay for and I'm happy they offer this at this price point. I would buy it again for the same purpose.

Great value and good quality for price.

Liked it. Sizing was American, and so everything fit well just as advertised. Great way to get most everything pretty cheap. Add a hat and presto. Very impressed by what I got for the price. Will last more than one event.

Good for the price.

I got this for my husband and it fit him pretty well. Only issue was the arm cuffs - you definitely need some help to put them on. The pants were very much flooding (high waters) lol but once you put the boot cuffs over your boots/shoes you can’t really tell how high the pants are. The material was pretty thin but not see through, so husband wore layers underneath and was fine. Overall, great buy for the price point.

Good fit, bad smell, possible allergic reaction to costume!

I ordered the size LARGE and have plenty of room - I'm a male, just under 6'2" and 210 lbs. My build is somewhere between average to athletic (36" Waist) and I had plenty of room in the pants and the shirt. The Good * The pants have an elastic waist band would easily fit over regular jeans/pants (or long johns if you are in cold weather) and they length came to 6" above my ankles. No problem there. * The shirt was really roomy and comfortable. The sleeves came to just past my wrists and I have a 5' wingspan. Also, the sleeves are "poofy" so they are really roomy too. The front has a cool looking crossover, lace-up design that you can adjust. No problem there. * Comes with a headband that is just over 4' long and looks good as well. * The belt it comes with is also just over 4' long but is thin cheesy looking vinyl and I probably will find another belt to wear. * The boot covers are vinyl and are about 16" tall coming just below my knee. They look OK but probably won't last for more than a couple of Halloween parties. * The wrist covers fit over my hands and lower forearm but you'll need another person to lace you up. My forearms are about 9" in circumference and the covers fit OK. The Bad * ALL the vinyl pieces (belt, wrist covers, boot covers) SMELL LIKE FERMENTED FISH. It's pretty bad. So I am airing those pieces out in hopes the odor will be gone by next week. Also looking into some sort of cleaner/air freshener for the vinyl. P.U.! The Ugly * I tried on the costume last night and went to bed. This morning, where ever the costume was in contact with my skin, I had the sensation of warm almost like a sunburn and then broke out in a red rash. My face (headband), shoulders, arms, back belly, (shirt) and legs especially my knees (pants) all were broken out with a red rash and really felt like burning. I took a really, really cold shower and considered calling my Doctor. My skin felt better after the shower so I think the costume either caused me to have an allergic reaction (and I'm not allergic to anything that I am aware of) or there was some chemical on the costume that irritated my skin. I am washing the costume and will try it on again. If I have another reaction, I'm returning the costume and will update the review. Overall, the fit and look of the costume are very good for only $20 shipped. However, if this bad boy was the cause of my skin irritation, then BUYER BEWARE. Maybe wash the costume prior to trying it on or try it on over your regular clothes. I hope this costume works out as I have also purchased and eye patch, a hoop earring, a toy cutlass, and a toy flintlock pistol to round out the look. ARRRRRRRRR!

Great purchase for the money!

We were looking for a pirate costume for my husband. He is 6 foot, 180 pounds. Broad shoulders, but otherwise slim build. The medium was perfect on him. The shirt was even a little baggy. Exactly what we wanted!

Excellent Costume!

The costume looks great! The sleeves on the shirt were a little short. The pants are short and fit larger, but the boot covers go over the pants well enough. The strings on the cuffs are nylon and have too be knotted like 3-4 times but the string is long enough to do that. Over all, it IS a costume. The fit will be different per individual. It was great, and we were very happy with it!

Class for the price

I was a bit dubious about purchasing this outfit as I am a large man, I work out I will have you know, I have broad shoulders but the costume fitted a treat and not bad quality, after a hat wig and a bit of makeup you would have thought caption jack sparrow was in town, defo recommend .

Good costume

It was cheaply made, but that's to be expected of this type of costume. My husband is 6'1 and almost 300lbs and the top fit perfectly, the pants were just a smig tight... he usually wears a 44 pant and XXL top, so I knew I was taking my chances with this but it will work.
