Good joints after fixing clamping issue
This company definitely has quality control or design issues. I couldn't get a tight clamp on the fence or template (plastic knobs) so disassembled it. This issue seems to be a reoccurring theme in the reviews but is easily fixed. I found the t-nut heads all stick up above the slotted bracket (item 11). See my photo. T-nut slotted section height is 0.113 in and the slotted bracket is 0.098 in thick. It's impossible to develop any clamping force because you're clamping the t-nut to the knob threads, not bearing the t-nut face against the slotted bracket. I filled down the head of the t-nuts (slotted end) until I had a 1/32 clearance between the head of the nut and bracket. Took about 20 minutes to do all 4. Plastic knobs secure after 1/4 past snug after filing the nuts. Side stops (items 13) have the same issue but are able to clamp if you really crank on them. I'll file them down later on. I cut 6 practice joints from scrap wood tonight testing it out and built a small box. I'd never cut dovetails before. I was meticulous with my setup and the joints went together without any issues. Setup is reasonably quick once you do it once a few times. I recommend this but beware of may take some creativity and effort to figure out. You're cutting dovetails so don't expect to just magically do it without some effort and thought. I didn't want to try the HF clone because they've bit me a few with junk. This is good for hobby woodworkers like me.

good product, reasonable price.
Bought used, reported having cosmetic damage, no damage whatsoever. Considering the condition of the box ut was a pleasant surprise. Its solid My only issue with the product is that there are two sets of knobs on the top rail that conflict with each other making them hard to adjust. Easily fixed by adding a spacer to the top set of knobs or replacing them with a set of knobs that have a longer neck or replacing the lower knobs with some that have a lower profile. It's also a bit complicated to initially set up for each project, but it has a lot of useful features as a result, like an adjustable tail stop for your router.

Woodstock dovetail jig
This jig is ok. I had to take the knobs and bolts, that clamp the jig to the top of the board, and replace them. The knob is just pressed over the top of the bolt. I just used a die to cut new threads on the end. Other than those holders being junk this works just fine. If they would of just spent a few bucks more to get better knobs this would of been great right out of the box and I would of given it a 5 star rating.

Woodstock, please improve this!
I almost never write reviews of products. I was impressed that Woodstock (aka Shopfox) used the criticism of replacing the plastic template with the aluminum one recommended by several consumers. When I bought one, I was non-plussed by the fact that it did not include a router bit as advertised. Playing with it to understand its function, I noticed that knob settings conflicted with one another. At a limit, one knob ran into another. The 2 two adjustments that extend for the width of the horizontal piece bind at the greatest width due to no spacer. A spacer would keep it aligned (that's a tough fix due to the squared nut that keeps it in a track). Still tempted to keep it, I took it apart to lube parts thinking I could live with it. It was very difficult to put back together because of obstructed nuts. If you are to the point of appreciating dovetails, then you will recognize a poor design. I applaud Woodstock for its price, but this is a case where you get what you pay for. Woodstock, please continue in the spirit consumer satisfaction and improve this!

DOVETAIL JIG D2796
HARBOR FREIGHT HAS THIS SAME TOOL BUT AT 32 BUCKS!!! HAVE NOT HAD GOOD LUCK SO FAR, JOINTS DON'T SEEM TO FIT PEOPERTLY. HAVE TO MAKE MORE ADJUSTMENTS I THINK. PRODUCT IS SOLID AND WORTH THE MONEY, LOOKED AT HARBOR FREIGHT'S COPY AND IT SEEMS TO BE MISSING PARTS. SOME ADVISE: PLEASE INDICATE THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE A GUIDE TEMPLATE AND GUIDE BUSHING FOR THIS PRODUCT TO WORK PROPERTLY, THANKS

Poor Quality
This is a poor quality jig. I had to file a washers so that they would lay flat. I am an experienced woodworker and this unit does not belong in my shop. Setup is fairly easy. You will need a place to permanently mount. The jig setting guide is NOT accurate. I even calipered my wood to be sure of measuring accuracy. IF I purchase another dovetail jig, I will definitely purchase another brand. The company would not honor the warranty, but Amazon was kind enough to accept a return. I lost about $10, but was willing to do that to get it out of my shop.

Wrong parts, poorly assembled
The template lock knobs are too tall, thus making it impossible to properly tighten the tension knobs. It's easily resolved by adding some washers to the tension knobs, but it really shouldn't be necessary. The top tension handle was also installed backwards, thus the cams wouldn't engage. I blame poor assembly for the wrong parts and backwards installation.

Good Quality At A Fair Price For The Budget Minded Woodsmith
I couldn't wait to use it, once it was delivered. Out of the box, this jig was mostly assembled, I had to tighten some of the bolts, but other then that it wasmostly assembled. After 2 hours of dovetail cutting & assembly of the lumber modified, all of the joints were easily assembled, first was a dry fit, the second time was for glue up & both processes were painless & precise. A bushing set that is recommended from the same company worked flawlessly, provided that the user is employing high quality router bits. For perfect joints, the jig is just the guide, it's the bits that will determine the final quality of the resulting joints. I am using Freud 1/2" 14 degree dovetail bits, the results were flawless, the jig is very easy to use & set-up. I was cutting perfect joints 10 minutes after I unboxed this jig. With an expansive line of accessories, this jig can cut many different sized dovetail & box joints. If you don't cut dovetails every day, this modestly priced jig is a great investment. Don't let the price fool you, the quality of this product is very high. I have already ordered 2 box joint & 3 dovetail plates to expand the system & the thicknesses of the lumber used. For the woodworker who will use a dovetail jig sparingly, or is on a tight budget, this is a great jig to have in the shop. It will perform as expected. Just make sure you are using high quality router bits when making dovetail joints. While you may save a few bucks buying cheap router bits, the low quality bits will clearly show through the finished joints. I will only ever use Freud router bits when making dovetil joints. When a cheap bit fails right out of the box or is poorly built, it can cost a lot of money in expensive lumber when you have to replace the boards because of poorly fitting joints. A 4.5 out of 5 in my books.

Product Unusable
We purchased this Jig and when our customer went to use it, it was unusable. One of the Threaded Holes was Tapped on an angle and therefore, the Jig was unusable. We had to re-drill and Re-Tap (Thread) the hole so we could use it. I am providing an honest and transparent product review. My recommendation to consumers is to check the functionality of these products thoroughly before the 30-day return window.

this isn't a very good idea on plastic knobs
Description is WRONG. It says you need 7/16 guide bushing AND 1/2 shank bit . How is a 1/2 inch shank going to fit thru a 7/16 guide bushing. Answer it isn't. You need a 1/4 in shank. Unit came with numerous screws that were loose and fell out when I pulled it out of the box, a couple of the knobs even fell out. No way to hand tighten the two outer knobs at the back that hold the fingers in place. I had to use a vice grips to tighten them enough to hold, this isn't a very good idea on plastic knobs. Whoever did QA on this unit wasn't doing a very good job.
