HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SAFE GIFT FOR INDEPENDENT ART MAKING AGES 5 to 9
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS GIFT FOR A YOUNG ARTIST! = The set is ideal for a child. I was looking for an amazing birthday gift and art set is that for any child who either loves to doodle or you want to inspire him her to do less TV and more of some intelligent and imaginative activity especially during any long school break as Summer or Winter or any time really = The set has all that little kid needs and does not have all that you would not put yourself in it I especially appreciate the fact that it DOES NOT have acrylic included as this makes it safe for younger kids. Acrylic paints tend to have metal based color and require certain level of skills to handle that little kids do not posse yet. Acrylic is a whole another kind of animal so I feel much better entrusting this set to a young one to have freedom of use without my supervision as the crayons and watercolor is something they are pro by the age of 5 and safe to use while acrylic could pose danger as it is not as child friendly and safe medium as the other ones plus, if they mess up with watercolor the cleaning is a breeze what can not be said about acrylic that can cause permanent damage to clothing and anything it lands if not washed out immediately and if you are not lucky enough to the surface it land on. = The set came in neat wooden or sort of wooden box. I won't dwell on the quality or material used as it does look and feel like wood and at this price I won't be picky for one and for two, still better then other metallic or plastic containers out t here for similar price. I personally like the classic feel to it even if i is not your acacia or oak wood precisely. = The top shelf aka lid is filled with woolen crayons what appear to be of medium hardness.. not too soft, not too hard, just your average kids' grade. Then you have an eraser, color coding chart, sharpener and few black pencils that are curiously coded in red wood. The body of the box itself has two parts - the belly and the drawer. The drawer can be fully extended or removed which is also neat as a young artist can simply either take it out and put it on the table for drawing without a need of setting the whole box r it can be taken out and set atop of the box if the crayons is all needed. The belly has pastels and watercolor sets in it, the bottom drawer is filled with crayons. All very god quality, well balancing in hand and very good vibrant colors. I do highly recommend this set for a child. This seems to be a great memory maker. I suggested age of up to 9 but if you have more avid artist. For older child over 9 however I would go with set that includes acrylic and ideally different grades of gray scale pencils but then again, consider that acrylic will require very close supervision and different work station set up as it messy and also consider acrylic safety as it is not safe for younger children as it contains lots of heavy metals that artist do not come in contact with normally but a small child is another story :)

So much nicer than I had expected! Bought as Christmas present for a 8yr old boy and he absolutely loves it! Very nice quality and has everything a young little artist could want at their fingertips (stored in one location). Perfect! Very pleased with this purchase!

Great Wooden Box for all my Coloured Pencils
I bought this kit for the wooden box and it works fabulously to hold my Polychromos coloured pencils. The bottom pull out tray and the middle section areas hold the full trays from the polychromos set, and both leave extra room for pencil sharpeners, erasers, etc., at the top and sides. The trays from the kit are glued in and can be pried up. The tray in the lid I removed and it had a lot more glue so it was taken out in pieces. My advice is to leave that tray in and use it for your polychromos because it will hold them, but not all of them. The extras can fit at the top and sides of the other trays.. (I tried to use the polychromos tray vertically and it does fit but a lot of tweaking would be needed to keep the pencils from falling out so that's why I suggest leaving the existing tray in place). And, there's even enough room to set another polychromos tray on top of the set inside the box and still latch it closed (my tray of Derwent Drawing 24 coloured pencils would not fit because the pencils are bigger and the tray as well. So with polychromos, you can have four trays. The wood is really paperboard with a thin real wood veneer and the quality is really good, especially considering the price. I gave all the contents it came with to a young niece who loves to do art. So no waste going on here. The price is really great for this wood box and so I highly recommend it - see the photos.

Really nice box, only one hinge holding the lid so be careful. Son really enjoys the paints and crayon options.

Not made in China!
Pretty good quality, not perfect. Cheap but not made in China cheap, Vietnam quality. Would be good enough to keep on a shelf once the supplies are all used

There is no App for that…
Keeps 5 of my grandkids happy and engaged on rainy, cold or snowy days and other days just because. There is no app for this kind of entertainment and artful stimulation or plain old fun. My only disappointment was that I got the first one for about $40 all in and once I had seen the joy it brought grandkids 1 and 2, I went back to buy 2 more and saw that a reseller had gotten their mitts on the product and the price more than doubled. Communication with that reseller was painful and there was no detailed information on shipping and delivery so I worried until they were actually in their intended hands. Felt like a rip off. The joy the kits brought though was just as good.

Perfect for prismacolor 132 set!
I took out the trays and left the one in lid. I was able to fit my 132 prismacolor set set in the case with some ajustments to thier trays. One tray of all the greys sits nicely on top so I just have to take it out. So much easier then messing with 6 small trays! Box is made well, cheap quality but nicly put together so everying lines up and looks well made. Serves my porpose perfect! Gave the art supplies to the little kids, average quality but not suitable for adult coloring. Weak hard pigments in pencil crayons. What one would expect for little kids quality art supplies. My older kids only use prismacolor, faber castel and Lyra so the supplies are far inferiour in this set. Box gets 5 stars, art supplies get 2 stars.
