Calipers
The calipers arrived on time as promised. They seem to be a good quality caliper, but the question still remains. Where were they made???? Hopefully they hold up! Time will tell!

AMAZING!
Didn’t think I was going to find calipers that were the quality of tools made as good as my father’s. Very impressed. To own well made tools that are precise, accurate, and last you need to spend some money. I feel that I got a great tool and didn’t spend that much money.

Best made all-around
The B&S calipers are the best made calipers I've found. I dial is super easy to read and you never have to worry about a dead battery :)

Great caliper, less than great case for the MSRP
Bottom line up top; Great caliper that could use a better padded case. Nothing a hot glue gun and some scrap foam can't fix. I use my Brown & Sharpe for many simple measurements around the workbench and it has given me consistent performance. I don't have the ability to double check the measurements with any advanced calibration equipment, but I feel confident with it's readings. The adjustment wheel is sturdy and doesn't slip, but it isn't stiff or hard to use. You could say it's just like Baby Bear's bed; it's just right. Had I spent full price for this dial caliper, I would have been a bit dismayed by their use of a flimsy plastic case with horrible latches that do not truly stay latched. Alas, I took the gamble, bought it used, and I feel like a bandit for the deal that I got (but let's just keep that between us).

Handle with more care next time please.
Very accurate, came fast and looks exactly like I would have bought from a Swift tools store except a little more cheaper price. However when I opened the box to see the dial face had already been cracked and close to a radius lenght, I wasn't impressed with the care that was taken before it got to my doorstep. Still a tool is a tool and I always keep checking the readings daily to make sure it's still true.

Precision Machinist Quality
I work as a precision machinist on various US/Monarch lathe's & Bridgeport/Cincinnati millers all day, every day. Fowler & SPI are fine for basic measuring but I needed something more accurate for my close-tolerance work. These calipers measure almost perfectly, or at least within .001. Some other calipers lose accuracy as they measure out to the 6" mark but I haven't noticed that with these, they still hold .002 easily. The black face is personal choice, but I find it resists oil tarnishing that happens to some white faces over several years. The only downside is the lack of a thumb roller. But they do have a raised/barbed section on there that works just as well, and the carriage slides easily enough (though not too easily). I have found that I got used to the design quickly and easily. My Brown & Sharpe micrometer has lasted me for more than 20 years so, if I'm careful I can see myself getting that out of these. Good quality, good accuracy even in a precision machine shop.

Not Swiss made, and you can tell
These are not the brown and sharpes of yesteryear! They may have the same same model number, but they are nowhere near as smooth, and definitely not made in Switzerland anymore. The description listed Switzerland as the country of origin, but that is wrong! After doing some research it turns out that production of the non ISO rated calipers has moved to China. The real Swiss made ones now have a new model number. Being Swiss made is a huge deal for 2 reasons; they’re Much smoother, and much more accurate! I’m a professional machinist, I use calipers a hundred times per day. My Mitutoyo pair is great, but the old Brown and Sharpes always had an edge on smoothness. A coworker accidentally broke them so I wanted them replaced, but these were way worse then even the cheap Fowler’s. Bottom line, I do not recommend buying these! Source the Swiss ones instead!
