Saved my old Craftsman vacuum - by the way, Genuine Craftsman filter
Like most of the filters these days, this on has the "base plate" built in. Older vacuums had a separate plate that held the filter in place and the pair was held in place by a sort of wing nut. We lost the base plate to my vacuum. My old filters (no built in base plate) would not stay in place now. I have made the same switch on a newer vacuum (which also came with base plate and old style filter) with no problem. In this case, my vacuum is so old, filters for it don't even show up in searches. This filter worked after I modified the "cage" slightly so the the built in base plate held the filter sufficiently tight against the vacuum top.

Filter you get is not filter displayed
Filter that was delivered was not the filter displayed in the on-line listing. It is quite different from the OEM design filter. The difference between the exposed filter pleats and closed in pleats will certainly give reduced filter efficiency and cause the motor to work harder. I will use it because I need it now but I would not have purchased if I had know that it was this style of filter.

WORKS Great!!
My first filter "got lost" so they ordered a replacement which showed up in no time at all. The filter fits and works very well. This filter is not as shown but it fits and has great suction!! It might be a upgrade, either way it works as good as new.. thanks

I had my CRAFTSMAN Vacuum for 10 years, it's hard to find the right filter for it in store. I've been looking for this for a while and found this one. good product. looks better than the original one.
