One issue…

I have mixed feelings when it comes to this e.fek.tiv beauty Chiuri + Shea Healing Body Balm. Let’s start with the bad. Really there are only one bad thing about this. The first is that while using this I have come across multiple really hard bits inside the solid balm that actually scrapped my skin. One even drew blood! So you want to be really careful when applying. I started putting it in my hands first and warming, then applying to other parts of the body so I could prevent scraping my skin up when I encountered one of those hard bits. Other than that, I actually really like this! It seams like it’s going to be really thick initially, but it’s actually not. It soaks into your skin within a few minutes and leaves that shin super smooth and soft. It also leaves a slightly minty tingle effect, it’s really mild but it is there! I love the container it comes in, it makes it great for throwing in your purchase or bag. And since the lid screws on it’s unlikely the lid will pop off accidentally. Overall if it were not for the random rock hard bits I have found I would give this 5 stars! But as is, I can only give 3.

Nice balm, bad delivery system

I actually like this balm and only wish it were easier to use. Ironically, I was specifically interested in trying this because I wanted to see if using a moisturizer in a stick form was more convenient. Alas, what arrived were two hunks of balm stuck inside the two sides of the container. To be clear, when I write "stuck", I mean REALLY STUCK! To get at the balm in the cap I eventually needed to actually cut it out because it was wedged into the top half of the dispenser so tightly. Using this as it arrived, I have ended up applying it to my skin with a butter knife, which is not ideal. On a positive note, the balm itself is nice. The fragrance is light, natural, and gender neutral. The balm is made with oil, so you have to be careful using it on your hands. It does, however, stay put. After rubbing it in, this does appear to soften callouses and smooth rough spots. I believe with different packaging this could be a really nice skin product. As it is, the balm is difficult to use and feels like a missed opportunity.

Hard and waxy, difficult to use

This body balm is very hard and waxy, making it difficult to use. It does not melt into my skin easily, so it's hard to spread it and rub it into my skin. It does not feel hydrating, and does not make my skin softer. It just sits on top of the skin. It does have a pleasant peppermint scent with a hint of lemon. It rolls up like deodorant does. The top was smushed into the cap on arrival. INGREDIENTS: Zea Mays Starch, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Bassia Butyracea Seed Butter, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Limonene, Citral, Linalool. Made in Italy

Didn't Help Cry Cracked Heels

I got this e.fec.tiv balm to use on my poor, dry, cracked heels, which are a mess. Unfortunately, after faithfully applying this balm repeatedly over many days, I don't see a bit of difference in my heels. The shape of the stick and the size of the balm head make it super easy to apply, especially on my heels, so I truly love that part. The shea butter, the beeswax, and the many beneficial oils such as sunflower, jojoba, sweet almond, peppermint, and lemon are also wonderful. My heels are just too much of a challenge for it, though. Because it specifically says it's good for rough areas like elbows and heels, and for me it was ineffective, I'm downgrading this balm to 3 stars.

good ingredients but inconvenient to apply since it is so hard

This is a very hard stick and has a texture sort of like I imagine frozen vaseline (it does not contain petroleum). If you rub it on your skin, only a small trail of oil rubs off onto my skin. I first tried it on my lips and was surprised to find it very tingly but I do not notice the tingle on the rest of my skin. It has a fresh minty smell. It is effective as a moisturizer but it would be easier to just apply body oil since the stick is not so convenient to use. It does have good ingredients, it just will not be my first choice.

Strong Perfume Smell

This arrives sealed inside a plastic bag inside of a shipping box and you can smell it right away before opening the shipping box. The odor is very strong and smells like synthetic, strong, baby powder, and really smelly. I could not stand it and threw it away right away without opening it or putting it on my body.
