Small case, big bowl

Our old popper finally died so we had to replace it. I went on the hunt for the 8 oz kettle since a lot of the home units are for 6 oz bags. What I didn't realize is that this unit is half the size of my other popper. The kettle is the same size but the interior of the actual unit and the storage space is very small. My advice would be to get the bigger one. That being said, it works just fine and the smaller size does tend to keep the popcorn warmer

You won't regret it!

This popcorn machine is amazing! We needed a popcorn machine for our wedding and after talking to a few vendors about renting one, I started looking online to see if I could find a cheaper one for rent. I stumbled upon this beauty and since it was cheaper to buy this machine then rent it, I thought why not? It was pretty easy to put together since everything you need is included. I bought the packages that include the popcorn kernels, butter, and salt already packaged and making popcorn in this machine was a breeze! It survived our wedding and we have used it at least 5 more times for big events or parties and a few times a home. Everywhere we take it, people compliment us and I am very glad we purchased this. The design is awesome and gives you an old times feel. The materials aren't the strongest but it still holds up well, as long as you keep up with cleaning it after using it. If this thing ever bites the dust, I will definitely buy another. Highly recommend!

Check all parts when it arrives

When putting this gift together on Christmas Eve, we noticed how bad the packaging was for this item. The axel on one end was pretty bent and hard to install. We were able to get it through finally but don't think this will roll correctly. Also, for some reason the glass door, once installed, does not align correctly with the magnet on the unit. That is frustrating!

The pot is stiff

I love the look of the popcorn machine, but this machine is not well made. I own a smaller version, different brand and never any issues. I wanted a bigger one, but this one is stiff. It’s hard to flip the pot, it gets stuck when all the popcorn has stopped popping out. We end up with burned popcorn after each packet that we empty.

A popcorn lovers must have

We LOVE this popcorn maker for the family. However, do not follow the directions in the manual on how to make popcorn. We had a smaller version and when we used that one I did it differently than what this manual said. I tried their way and burned the bottom of the popper the first day. The way we pop the popcorn is put in coconut oil and one cup of popcorn at the same time. I turn the heat and spinner on at the same time. When it starts to slow down (about 3 seconds between pops like the microwave version) I turn off the heat but let it spin around a couple more times. We have also bought the gallon size butter from here and flavacol to help season the popcorn. I don't think there has been a day since we purchased this that our popcorn maker has not had popcorn in it. Oh, and it pops so fast too. Less than five minutes and we have enough popcorn for our family of four.

Great popper!

The popper was packed very tightly within the shipping box and was padded with Styrofoam. However, the popper was still dented in several places when we unpacked it. None of the dents are too sharp/severe and will not affect the functionality of the machine. We ordered the popper for a party this weekend so decided to keep it despite the imperfections. The popper was easy to assemble and within 30 minutes of unpacking, we were enjoying our first bowl of delicious popcorn. There were several unpopped kernels - more than I expected - but I am not sure if that's due to the kettle or the corn? If you are having a hard time conceptualizing how much popcorn an 8 oz. kettle makes, we scooped most into a large bowl and there were still 1-2 handfuls left in the machine. My wife and I split the large bowl and were very satisfied. Technically, an 8 oz. kettle produces 8 servings but NO one eats just 1 serving of popcorn so I would say that it feeds 3 adults per batch. Overall, we're happy with our purchase!

LOVE IT, Have recommended it to many people

My family loves this item. I purchased this for my husband, he was thrilled. The black and silver is gorgeous, looks great in my living room which is red/black/yellow. The storage compartment is very nice, I have added a shelf to the lover portion to hold the popping oil. I suggest butter flavor Crisco as an option for the oil. This item makes great salted, butter popcorn; excellent Carmel corn and kettle corn. Flavors are easy to do, cleaning is a breeze. Thanks to Fed Ex I had several issues - 1st delivery arrived with the glass busted out; 2nd delivery they damaged the door. The company replaced the item quickly and new door was shipped right after I notified them. Friendly helpful staff for a great item. Everyone in my family has used the machine with great ease. The product is simple to use, simple to clean, works smoothly. I highly recommend this item.
