Very, very good!
Not perfect, but very, very good. For the price, it's wonderful. It's reliable, easy to read even in day/sunlight. It does exactly what it says it will. I'm sold on Garmin! The biggest downside is that the battery needs recharging every three or so days. Considering that the number of recharges determines the product's life, this one won't last as long as one whose charge lasts longer. Please also note that it does come with a medium size band. When I bought mine, only small and large were listed so I got a large. It's a bit unwieldy. I also wish the bands came in more colors. But overall and with regard to functionality, I'm loving it.

Garmin Vivosmart Smart Watch
The Garmin Vivosmart has quite a bit of functions built into a remarkably small package. It is comfortable to wear and I believe the overall functions are reasonably accurate. It uses your smart phone for the GPS functions which I suspect aids in battery charge duration. My only negative comment is the size of the display. That's a personal observation only bit overall I'd recommend it as an entry level smart watch, value for the cost.

Very happy with purchase
Like the connect app functionality; connects to apple health, but use the app day to day. One day about 3 months in the monitor stopped working. Went into settings, reset to default, full functionality returned with no loss of data. Also like that I am not required to purchase a premium plan. I think the tracker is accurate enough, but I can say that it is very consistent. As a Physician I realize this is not a diagnostic quality instrument, but it does not need to be. It just needs to be consistent. I use it to trend my lifestyle by comparing today to yesterday, and last week, and 30 days ago. Charge lasts several days. Overall extremely pleased with this purchase.

Great except for the band
I love everything about this device and the app EXCEPT the band. I have severe heat rashes on both wrists from sweat being trapped under the silicone during workouts. Clearly swapping wrists and drying out after exercise/showers isn't enough. This photo is 2 weeks into healing. Since garmin offers no other band materials for this, and neither does anyone else, my expensive device is now useless. Very disappointed.

Right watch, wrong charger
I love the watch. It's exactly what I wanted and expected. I out it on and started using it as soon as it arrived 5 days ago. The charge was at 80+% works great. Went to charge it yesterday as it was at 22% and realized the charger that was in the box was the wrong charger. So I didn't want to go without the watch for so long in an entire product return process so I just ordered the charger (found a two pack for 8.98), should be here tomorrow.

Not for this person with poor vision
This watch /fitness tracker is for people with good vision, not for people like me that have vision issues. I can sometimes read the information on the watch when I wear my reading glasses and the lighting is good. But I can barely see the information when I’m walking/running or working out, times when I do not wear reading glasses. The info on the app is also hard to read; lots of data crammed together with poor indexing. Another issue with the app is that there have been times when the app and watch won’t connect, which could be a Bluetooth problem, but to me that’s a Garmin problem. And the battery life, I have had mine run down in three. Days. this is my third watch/fitness tracker, I had similar problems with the first two (different brsnd) . It could be that the state of manufacturing and design across brands is not quite there yet, and lemons result.

Touchscreen unresponsive
I bought the Vivosmart 5 as a replacement for my dying Fitbit Charge 5. Right out of the box, the screen was randomly responsive. Sometimes a finger swipe would work, most of the time it wouldn't. I reset it, and it worked for maybe 5-10 minutes before it become unresponsive again. I tried all the troubleshooting, and it would seem to work, only to relapse to not working. I simply could not use it like this, so in less than 24 hrs I returned it. Very frustrating, and I'm disappointed.

Not Durable
After four days of use watch face had chip in it. Also couldn’t get the weather or the fitness pal app to sync. Even after several attempts and reaching out for help

Battery nowhere near as good as they say.
Functionally it does the job. I don't recall a Garmin product that didn't. As for the battery, I am pretty sure the only way to get 7 days out of it is to charge it fully, put it on first thing in the morning on Sunday (for example), where it until Monday morning, turn it off, don't wear it again until Saturday morning when you turn it on again. Boom 7 days. I tried using all the functions I wanted the first day and battery last barely 30 hours. I turned off a bunch of the functions, turned down brightness, turned off notifications, turned off gestures, no auto tracking of activities, and I managed to get it to maybe 48 hours. So I have no idea how they tested it.

Received NEW on Wed noon, DEAD battery Friday noon. Manual says zip but Support saved the day.
The Garmin Vivosmart 5 has great reviews and I thought it was awesome until the battery died. The 'manual' that comes with the unit is near useless, doesn't even say how to charge the thing. The saving grace is that the support folks are pretty good. You really need to download the full manual. I'm quite impressed with the volume of data you get about exercise, sleep, heartrate, etc.
