Looks and works great. Individual lights can change color wich means you can do so much more with this. Just wish it would connect to smartthings.

Beautiful Lights, other stuff needs work
The lights are beautiful, they are bright and vibrant. Each set of 3 led can be a different color. I thought it would be each individual one. The adhesive to attach the strip is useless. I originally put these on the back of my desk but they kept coming unstuck. I had to move them to a wall and use tacks to support it. They include 5 clip/tack things, they suck. I found it was easier to use a regular thumb tack. The power cord is incredibly short if you plan on putting these anywhere thats not right next to an outlet you'll need an extension cord. The custom light shows are a cool idea, tho dont seem to be very user friendly. I also havnt figured out how to do custom show with strip and bulbs together.

Inferior to the original in almost every way
First off the "double sided tape" on the light strip is a joke. It's very thin and sticks about as well as plain plastic - that's IF you don't end up pulling it up while you're trying to remove the backing that has a weakness prone to breaking every couple of inches and a clean break every six inches for some idiotic reason. If you're going to buy these, get real double sided tape. The AC adapter's wire is shorter than I'd like. The lights are MUCH slower to respond than the originals. So much so that I sometimes thought they didn't get the signal. Finally, the lights are a bit dimmer than the originals at full intensity. Overall, these are a grossly inferior product compared to the original. Sad to see with the increasing competition.

ADD 3M Heavy Duty Tape when you order this
Supplied mounting tape is pretty much useless, like others here have said. Order the 3M heavy duty double sided molding tape in the 1/4x15ft or longer to get your install job done in one day.

Bright and good-looking light strip with some room for improvement
Anyone who knows me or has seen my shopping history knows that I am a huge fan of anything RGB. My wife says that if I could, I would put RGB lights on the cats, and you know what? She is not wrong! They just won't stay still long enough for me to attach the lights, lol. Needless to say, I have a lot of RGB lights and light strips. On the positive side of things, the first thing I noticed is the build quality seems solid, the materials look and feel premium. The lights are nice and bright, and the colors are very vivid. It comes with the power supply (make sure you get the full kit and not an expansion kit) and everything you need, minus any tools. It comes with an extension connector, and you can get an extension kit, which is a nice option that many other light strips do not have. It uses 3M adhesive tape, but I have not used the adhesive strip yet as I am still moving it around to see where I like it the most and where the wife won't get too mad at me! So, I cannot speak about any of the issues regarding the adhesive tape that some others have mentioned. As soon as I do use it, I will update my review. On the not so positive side, the app setup was not the most intuitive or easy and it goes through a lot of steps to set it up. The app does have some nice features and controls, but it is not the easiest to use. I am sure after some time using it, it will feel a little smoother. The soft semi-translucent material that is used to cover the LEDs could do a better job of diffusing the light, as the individual LEDs are quite visible, so I would mount them anywhere that you will get a direct view of the LED's, it would be better to have them mounted in a way that the light shines onto another surface (i.e. attached under the cabinets with the LEDs pointed down onto the floor, etc.). Overall, I do like the GE CYNC Dynamic Effects LED Smart Light Strip, and I can and do recommend it!

Lots to like, minor gripes
I've mostly outfitted my house with Hue products (mostly bulbs), but thought I'd give this a shot. One thing of note is that there are only enough brackets for one placement. If you want to put it somewhere else, it's not easy to find replacement brackets (kind of an awkward size) so you'll have to unscrew the first set and put it somewhere else. The actual light strip is quite thick, with a rounded top and a kind of hollow rubbery square bottom. The light patterns are pretty bright, but not that easy to create new ones. Each individual LED is somewhat visible but they do a good job of diffusing the light. If you're not looking too close or you're far away, you probably won't notice that much. I initially had a bit of problem connecting to my 5 ghz wifi channel, so I put it on my guest 2.4 ghz, and it was fine after that. Could be due the lights being in the garage so YMMV. My brackets are hanging vertically currently and there's no issue that I can see of it possibly falling down, but I think even if I were to hang them upside down on a ceiling or something they should hold. The clips, while hard to find in terms of replacements, do work well. GE also does not sell replacement clips, so that's also a bummer. Another thing is these are not compatible with IFTTT on their own, but they are compatible with Alexa. So you can actually do a workaround with IFTTT and something like VoiceMonkey and then through Alexa. I've not had any issues with the lights failing to initiate when using this, except for the first 2 times (maybe setup issues). Overall, these work well. You'll have to decide if the value makes sense for you, but I think these would be pretty comparable to a Hue set. Only thing I'm not thrilled with is the lack of replacement clips, and that the light pattern creation software on the app is not all that easy to use. But it does what it needs to and so gets 5 stars.
