This "GVS SPM587 Elipse Mask Starter Kit" is of great value. You get a GVS Ellipse "half face" mask (M/L model) with a pair of P100 filters, an extra pair of P100 filters, and a custom carrying case for the Ellipse mask. GVS is a reputable PPE (personal protection equipment) manufacturer from United Kingdom. I had used more than a few GVS mask previously, and their quality, comfortable, and protection level is comparable/equivalent to that of 3Ms. I particularly loved the GVS Ellipse series of masks as they are super compact, very comfortable (and adjustable), while giving protection level like this particular one - P100! P100 means the filter level is up to 99.97%, and the pore size is 0.3um! This is much better than the typical N95 (95%) masks. The difference between the N and P designation is that N is meant to filter out airborne particles while not resistant to oil, and P is meant to also filter out airborne particles while having a strong resistant to oil. All of GVS Ellipse masks are approved by NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health). But they are "valved" masks, so with respect to "covid spread" prevention, these will protect the wearer against external contamination while it is NOT protect others again an infectious wearer; hence, this type of masks are generally "not recommend" (or approved) for "prevention of covid spread". Even thought they are really good mask (for the wearer). This mask is super comfortable, soft, form-fitting and sealed to your face nicely. Anyhow, I didn't acquire this mask for covid, I got this for general around the house projects - painting, wood work, demolition, going under the house, or into the attic etc.. and this mask work fantastically. Best of all, this kit is super affordable and of great value, 2 sets of filters, 1 mask and a carrying case for slightly over $30. Well worth your money! Typically just a set of replacement filter will cost you $15, and the carrying case will cost you $14! Most of the GVS Ellipse masks that I had before were made in UK, yet I think this particular set had the mask made in USA. I am directly comparing the one that come with this kit vs that one that I had before; except the fact that the one that comes with this kit do not have the "made in UK" markings, everything else is identical.
