The 10 yr lithium battery will match or outlive the lifespan of the sensor.

It’s a safer alternative than using conventional batteries, which you may forget to replace. The 10 yr battery matches or exceeds the expected life span of the CO sensor. I’m glad I found these at a reasonable price.

When you have a CO2 that is separate from a smoke detector you can put them nearer the floor.

I thought that these were the kind that plugged into an outlet. They have a 10 year battery so I guess that's not bad and I had more freedom to put them where they would do the most good. They were relatively easy to install and you can tuck them near the floor. So much better than a CO2 detector on the ceiling. My ceilings are so high that I would probably be dead before the traditional ones went off.

Tamper proof

C3010 date of mfg: 2020,06,03 Permanent battery. Very small and lightweight. Cannot be disabled by a person who doesn't want it to chirp, or what-have-you. Thorough documentation (in the super small printer font suggestive of zero concern for people who cannot see as well as they once did. ;) Took careful photographs of all words printed on this CO detector gadget before installing it. Fit exactly on same spacing of the old CO detector. The two fasteners for the Kidde KN-COB-B-LP (the replaced unit) are spaced exactly the same as the reviewed item, Kidde C3010. That was helpful. ;) The unit weighs very little. Hardly any room to write in month and year for the 'replace by' date, on the side of the unit. Instrux say to vacuum it often, ostensibly to clean it of dust. They didn't include a vacuum cleaner, though. ;). Would buy again. Tamper proof design (and Kidde brand) made this one the obvious choice. Meant to last up to ten years. I'll be giving it a solid six years; no more.
