Cute gift for a fish obsessed toddler

My son has been obsessed with fishing lately (he even had his real pole in the house) so this was the perfect present for him. It also has a learning factor. Small, medium and large. Magnetic hook. Fine motor practice with reeling in. Just cute all around.

Awesome starter kit for budding fisherman!

Best age: Toddler (purchased for 3 year old, perfect age for use) Pros: Complete kit - comes with "tackle" box, vest, activity book (geared for closer to Kindergarten age), rod (large, made for children's hands), three fish (small, medium, large), three worms (small, medium, large - they slip on the hook above the magnet and may slightly interfere with snagging a fish), and a net. Cons: Would be nice if it came with more fish. The tackle box doesn't have a latch and ours doesn't actually click closed - so if we go to lift it by the handle, the contents dump out. It is a pity it was poorly designed in that regard, but I'm still glad I chose this set over some of the others I had seen offered online. My three year old has already logged quite a few hours with this toy and it doesn't show any signs of wear yet. I was able to get the rod to cast, but it took a lot of force and didn't really work well - so we pull out the line and then "catch" the fish and reel them in. The reel is simple enough for my toddler to use. I DO NOT think this toy is meant to go in the water, we have not tried - but I wouldn't advise it. Would I recommend: YES! Fun toy, worth about $20.

LOVE this set!!!

My 3 year old son LOVES THIS SET!!! he REALLY loves it.... the vest comes with nice pockets to carry all the fishing gear around while actively playing, and the tackle box is great for storing it all together so it doesn't get lost amongst the other toys in the toy box. Such a great alternative to the trucks and cars that seem to dominate the boys toys "section" I am sad though because the tip of the fishing pole some how seperates, this happens while he's swinging it in circles or it hits the floor (something I am sure most kids will tend to do?), and the magnet comes flinging out. I kept putting it back in and as long as I face it the right way it attracts the fishies again and all is well!! However... we have finally lost the magnet for good which means I will be having to buy another one because this is his absolute favorite toy, he will fish all day when he can!! maybe wrap some tape around the "hook"? curious if anyone else had this happen...

Love this!! Fish are adorable. Because of some of the reviews, I thought the magnets might not work well but they did! The vest is so cute and seems like really good quality especially for the price. I watched my 2 year old granddaughter's eyes light up when she caught a fish. The reel makes it good for older kids, too. I want one for myself! One note, the box sometimes is hard to close all the way.

It’s great to have an indoor camping trip with grandma

I got this for my 4 year old granddaughter we pretend to go camping and fishing ???? while FaceTiming as I’m in a skilled nursing facility and was on lockdown up until three weeks ago . I try to do as much as I can with her via FaceTime she packed a picnic got dressed in her fishing vest and away we went . She has quite an imagination and absolutely loved this

no worries, kids love

I have a 3 year old and 1 year old, the 3 year old loves fishing, so i bought this for him, with the intentions of buying him a different fishing pole that is more lifelike and giving the fishing pole to his baby sister. It worked out perfectly!!!!!!!!!!! He needed a tackle box and LOVES it and also, the fishing vest is a cloth vest that he loves putting on! His little sister who is almost 2 loves the fishing pole that came with it, and since i bought him another pole, they both play well together. I am glad i bought this and didn't listen to reviews cause this purchase, for the little tackle box and vest was worth it. Would not pay over 20 dollars for it, though. Fishing pole is a sturdy one, so it's great for younger kids. Too baby for my almost 4 year old though. Great purchase, would recommend for other families who have kids close in age and swapping the fishing pole included here for the younger child and buying an additional one (search amazon, they have a great one for older kids)! I think I paid around 15 for this and it's worth it. Amazon has it now for like 27, would not pay that!

I bought this for my son. He loves it. Plays with it in his pool. I love how durable it is. The little worms that come with it are cute and I like how easily you can attach them to the hook. Best purchase.

Learning Resources Pretend and Play Fishing Set

The items arrived quickly. The fish are solid and my 3 year old enjoys hooking the fish in the bath tub as the magnets on the rod and fishes mouth are fairly big and make it easier for a young child to hook the fish. We didn't get any use out of the fishing vest as my little fella wasn't interested in it at all. The fishing net he used to put other plastic character in and carry them around. So, basically, for the fishing aspect, we only used the rod and fish. My child broke the magnet off the end of the hook after using the set for close to a year. He plays rough with his toys and I don't believe the break was a result of the product being cheap. He definitely enjoyed the product.
