Very poor customer service
The product is very well constructed and is as described, however, trying to return it unused is a pain in the ass. The company makes it very difficult to return not Amazon, make sure you keep the box and all the packing material and even if you show them that it is not used you will not get a full refund. They take their time to respond through amamzon in ordr to have you send anything back instead of dealing with you straight forward. Like i said the producut is spot on but customers service sucks

Well built and makes cleanup much easier
I have allergies so I like to keep a clean fire box, and I was looking for an ash pan to hasten the cleanup. This one works quite well. I was surprised at the quality of it: Nice thick metal, no sharp edges, and a silvery finish. We tried it out the other night. After the fire had gone out and cooled, the pan was easy to lift out of the fireplace. I let the pan and contents cool outside on the patio overnight just to be safe, before dumping it. There were just a few residual ashes left in the fireplace making it a lot easier cleanup than usual. There is another brand of ash pan on Amazon that is size-adjustable, but if you read the reviews of that one, it seems not well made. This one is. But this pan is just not adjustable so be sure to measure carefully before you order. Looks like Minuteman has several sizes to choose from here on Amazon.

Life saver
This has been a life saver for cleaning the fireplace. Makes it so much easier, thanks! My only issue is it says its for a 24" and the smaller size sliding in actually hits my grate so I have to maneuver it. Small price to pay for easier clean ups

Doesn't fit like I want it to
Sturdy, but doesn't fit. Although this is designed for a fireplace, I was looking for an ashtray that could possibly work in a wood burning stove. Yes, I know it has the trapezoid shape and that really didn't matter to me.. I just wanted a tray/ash pan that would be able to collect the ashes thus lessening the workload for me having to "clean" the stove when all I have to do is raise the legs of the grate and remove the tray. And yes, I found out too that it's better to get an ash pan not the exact size of your grate; reason being is because with the tray being slightly smaller (or a few inches smaller) than the grate then all you have to do, instead of removing the grate, just lift the legs of the grate and dispose of the ashtray that lies under the grate itself. So, if this works, then there won't a need (hopefully) to take out both the grate and the ashpan. Well, lesson learned just by experience. And you won't know until you try, right?

Great idea, wish it came in more sizes
This is made for a 24" grate. Mine is 23". So it doesn't really fit--the grate kind of rests on top of this ash pan (I think it's designed to slide underneath, but I'll have to lift the dirty grate to toss the ashes--first world problems lol). But the company doesn't make many sizes so it's the best I could do. Hopefully it'll serve its purpose anyway. It's a great idea, all grates should come with something like this.
