Helpful tool
I bought this for the bread maker in my family. He has used it a couple of times and says it’s great for evenly slicing homemade bread. He said some breads may bake taller than the guide and that could pose a challenge and also make sure your bread knife is wider than the guide. Clean with a damp cloth, no dishwasher or immersion in water. Overall, much better and consistent than just using a cutting board.

Bread slicing guide
This is very helpful in slicing homemade bread. However, the wooden bottom needs to be harder. A plastic bottom would be better. When slicing the bread the bread knife has a tendency to leave scratches on the soft bottom.

Fits different sized loaves of bread
What a great kitchen item! I love using this guide to slice even pieces of sourdough bread with breakfast and Italian bread with dinner. The item ships flats, so simple assembly is required - just fasten 4 (included) screws in designated spots. Pros: this tray is wide enough for different loaves of bread, rather than only fitting thin Italian/baguette loaves. Also love the simplistic country-style design! Only cons: I found the need to further attach the two wooden halves together, as the cutting motion causes separation. This was a simple fix and not an issue.

Better than nothing I guess
Well, it's ok. I find that I have more control if I lift out the end and sort of squeeze the sides together with the bread. The problem with this slicer is, is that my Wusthof bread knife is just a teeny bit longer than the width of this slicer. So as one draws back on the blade it comes out of the guide. You have to make lots of short smaller strokes ot keep the knife in the guides. Better than nothing I guess.

Soft Wood Construction
I ordered it from the warehouse and it arrived broken, but Amazon was great on the return. After looking at the product I don't think I would have been happy with it. It is made of soft wood and the crumb try is fixed into place. I feel the wood is to soft to make the product really last and I would have to reinforce the corners with finishing nails so it would hold together. With that said all worked out for the best.

A Slice Above
I love buying crispy loaves of bread from the bakery section of fine gourmet stores. So amazing. I don't have them sliced in the store since we are only two people and the breads could spoil before we finish them . Mrs. Anderson's Bread Cutter is wonderful. I slice off what we plan to use and wrap up the rest of the bread for later. Sometimes I slice the end pieces and freeze them. I also like to bake breads: banana nut, blueberry, apple, zucchini, etc. They fit in this extra wide slicer and when I slice them, the bread doesn't fall apart. The slices are a great width for toasters. Enjoy!

No more squished bread!
I absolutely love this bread slicer. It’s sturdy, easy to assemble with four small screws, and so easy to clean. I love that it catches all of the crumbs and there’s no mess all over the counter. The guides are the perfect with each slice perfectly uniform. I was concerned that I could not adjust them but realized if I wanted a thicker piece of bread I could simply skip one guide. Worked out great. The best part was that the knife slides easily and the bread comes out perfect! Not all squished… Even warm bread sliced nicely.

NOT a POS like the last one I bought for the same price.
I'll start off by listing the negative characteristics: NONE. Now, to the positive aspects: the plastic guides are constructed of durable plastic. It's not flimsy and you won't slice a sliver of the guide off like ALL of the bamboo slicing guides on Amazon. It's VERY easy to keep clean. At the restaurant, I bake over 100 boules each week, and I bake at least 21 Pullman loaves at home every week, which I sell. THIS SLICING GUIDE IS AS GOOD AS A SLICING MACHINE without the $1500 cost.

Nice looking, works beautifully and easy to clean
I'm very happy with this board. I cut a lot of bread by hand now as I've taken to making all our bread now with my bread machine. Nothing worse than making a sandwich where one slice of bread is markedly thicker than the other. This cutting board of course prevents that and allows you to slice pretty uniform slices. The slices are thin which I personally like. And it would be hard to slice the bread that thin without this board. But of course if you want thicker slices you could just cut at every second slot instead of at each one. It lets you slice bread evenly and each slice is pretty uniform, I also love how easy it is to clean. The bottom grid catches the crumbs and the piece comes out so you can easily just shake them out. The clear panel that the bread presses on when cutting is is easily removed so you can wash it. And well it just looks attractive on my shelf when stored away. Very happy with mine.

A must for bread makers
I make bread at least twice a week this is a must for bread makers it’ll slice up to 3/4 of the loaf. Go a little light on the pressure since the knife does score The wooden slats. Mike.

Good product
I like this product. It alows to cut slices of tickness required. It's a little fragile so you have to be caution when using it.

NOT IMPRESSIVE
You need a really, really long bread knife and a certain size bread to make this wofk.
