Works great
Bought this to help soldering wires on long projects. Works great, haven't had any issues with the clamps and everything works as advertised. Wish the base was slightly wider to give it a little more stability, other than that a great set of hands.

It literally IS my third hand
If you need to have a third hand this product fits the bill. I use it all the time because it allows me to use my second hand (and sometimes my firsthand) for other things. A must have for the house or shop.

Magnifying glass with arms
This item is alot of help with the extra arms to hold small items and be able to see what your trying to do.

Not bad for the price!
Seeing that I read the reviews before purchasing this item, the first thing I did when I received was to solder the clips to the adjustment rod and ball. And I drilled a small hole in the base and screwed it to my work bench so it will not fall over. I use it for holding HO scale model train parts for soldering and other small things in 1/87th scale so the size is perfect for my needs.

Just what I needed!
The base is nice and heavy enough for jewelry making. The arms and clips are easily movable. The price is great!

Finally I can see!
This is an amazing tool to have on hand if you are hard of sight or working on small detailed projects. I have been creating creatures from clay and painting resin miniatures, which my eyes were not made for. This has helped so much, ensuring I get the details as realistic as possible. One of my miniatures has tiny frogs on it, I swore I had no idea they were there until I started painting. That is how small they are. This magnify glass helped me see their tiny toes and eyes, instead of me just painting them a single color, I was able to add depth. It is my first of these, and I do have trouble getting it in the right position without falling over. I would say for a beginner there is a learning curve, but well worth it. It is heavier due to the good materials, but not so heavy you can't carry it around without.

Utter garbage
The media could not be loaded. Not only will the alligator clips come loose very quickly, making this useless for holding anything in place, it also is not properly weighted at all. It has a tendency to fall over forwards, which I found out the hard way after it fell off my workstation and COMPLETELY DESTROYED the project I was working on. If you value the time you spend working and don’t want it all to amount to nothing, DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK.

Not bad, but consider this…
(French review below) The structure and pieces are well made except for the alligator clamps. The clamps were held into place only by pressure (soft metal is wrapped/bent around the structure, no solder, no adhesive). Both of mine fell off quickly, before the first job … On the bright side, it can easily be fixed with metal adhesives or soldering. The stand is heavy enough to stay upright when holding small Printed Circuit Boards or wires but will topple over if clamps are extended at the maximum. Again this can be fixed by adding weight to the base or by using fastening clamps. Bottom line: The overall product is decent considering I paid 10$ for it. Flaws can be corrected if you are willing to tinker with it.

Okay for what I need
This item is "okay" for what I need, however, I have not tried it on my finer jewelry for repairs. The magnifying glass is not great. My biggest complaint was that it did not have instructions on how to put it together. I had to go back to Amazon to enlarge the pictures to figure it out. Also, I do not understand why there was not a thumbscrew on the movable part of the magnifying glass like there were on the rest of the product. Had to use a screwdriver, and will continue to have to do so every time I want to move the magnifying glass down the arm. This is inconvenient. Hopefully, it will prove its worth the more I use it. At the price point, you really can't expect more.
