Perfect for my cat!

This is so tiny! It’s perfect to put on my cat’s harness. Definitely would recommend for cats and small dogs, I’ve never seen another option out there quite this small. 4 stars because the clip is built in and it has fallen off her once already.

Better for small animals, worse in general than the SpotLit

So I got the SpotLit for my mini dachshund and it was a much better build quality for a similar price than this product. But I ended exchanging the SpotLit for this. I exchanged it for this because it was just too big, between a quarter and a half dollar in diameter. This one is the size of a dime and much lighter. Because it is so light it feels cheap, but it is less of a hindrance on my dog and does the job of making him stand out in the dark. Also, the SpotLit would bounce off his chest since it was like made of a bouncy rubber and would knock on stuff due to the size of it. If you are worried about durability and have a dog that doesn’t have 6 inch legs, I would get the SpotLit, otherwise this is the one for you.

super bright for my small dog!

Twist on and he goes out for a quick potty at night. Even when walking in the dark - I have a headlamp and hand-held light, this little light attached to his collar is super bright. Better than others I purchased at specialized pet stores. Thanks!

Great light but doesn't last

I love the small size for my miniature schnauzer but have found myself reordering these lights over and over again. The battery contact seems to get less secure with use and the light dims even with a new battery. I have switched to a USB chargeable light right that slips over her head and is visible from all directions.

I bought this for my partially blind furbaby

she could see a little bit, so I put reflective strips around the house, a reflective tag on her bother and this little light to better illuminate those strips and whatever else she can just barely see on her own. it worked perfectly. the light was very bright and visibly helped her get around. the battery lasted more then 2 nights, but wasn’t bright enough for her after that second night. it never fell off her collar but it did dip into her water bowl… so screw the battery cover/lense on tight. if you screw it on tight, the water will be kept out… but the plastic screw-on threading will weaken or even break after a few months. I bought maybe a half dozen over the last 2 years of her life. her last light still works. she’s just not here to use it anymore :(

Perfect size for a cat or small dog

My cat loves to go outside in the evenings and except for the deck area my backyard is in total darkness. This light is very bright so I can easily see where she is at night. The small size is perfect for a cat and it provides a surprisingly bright light. When the light starts to become dim it's very easy to replace the battery.

Know where your dog is at night-Updated 3/2013 Good Idea, Not a Good Product

I purchased two of these for my dogs. I use them during walks at night and it helps me keep track of them when they are in the back yard at night. We have people that speed in our neighborhood so it helps get their attention and they will slow down if we're about to cross the street. Even though they come with batteries, I recommend to also purchase replacement batteries (CR 927 3V Lithium) as sometimes the batteries get drained during storage-Reviewed in JULY 2012. Updated Review MARCH 2013 I reduced my rating from five stars to three stars (but almost want to give two) because once you change the batteries the lights never work the same. They dim and brighten during walks depending on how much the leash is jiggling around the dog's neck. I have tried to reposition the battery and re-screw the light back on the casing; it would shine bright initially but then go dim again during my walks. I had my husband pull out this metal piece inside to protrude more so there would be more contact with the battery but it only worked temporarily. I did contact "NiteIze" (hence the three stars) and they did respond by sending me a new light. I actually requested that they give me the "SpotLit" instead of the "Petlit". The Spotlit is a larger light but you have to use a lot of pressure with your fingers to push the light "on" and "off". I have tendonitis in my hands so I stopped using it. Overall this light works great the first time you use it but after the battery is changed, it will never be the same again. I wanted to add that this is my second set of the Petlit lights. My first pair was purchased from a vendor at a pet event. I thought the first ones were defective so I wanted to see if this second set from Amazon would be better and not dim and brighten after the batteries were changed. To my disappointment it was the same.

Works Great

Have purchased these for years. They help if you have a senior or blind dog who may get lost in the backyard at night. Will also help you find a lost dog who gets out at night.

Basically Useless

This is so useless. I previously ordered the ones from China (Zehui NEW Red Circular Pendant Collar Puppy Led Safety Night Light Pet Dog Collar) and they are much MUCH better in that they actually work. I only ordered this one as I knew the replacement for my other light would take a while to arrive and this one was on amazon prime (although it didn't actually arrive due to courier issues and a week or later I had to get refunded and reorder) This is the most pathetic light ever. Don't waste your money. The cheap Chinese ones are really bright and I can see my dog in the distance with the little beacon on. This one is so tiny and dim it's basically useless.

feeble light not up to scratch

This collar light consists of one feeble led light in the middle of the small round plastic 'jewel'. It's probably not as bright as a single fairy light. It is not visible at all unless you are facing it directly. I was looking for a bright light that would be visible to other pedestrians and road users as my dark coloured short coated large dog sometimes seems to take people by surprise even though he's always on the lead. I bought it to replace a much brighter and slightly larger flashing collar light which kept switching itself off. I'll just have to keep looking! Maybe this item would be OK for a cat or really small short coated dog.

Small and not very good.

Utter rubbish, don't waste your money. Tiny, flimsy clasp that won't go onto larger dog collars. The light from it is weak and very directional, the jeweled lens does a poor job of diffusing the light to the sides. Plenty of cheaper options around with brighter and more noticeable light.
