Serving bowl

I like to entertain and often serve dip or hummus or both. I bought two of these and neither came with instructions. I don’t put them in the dishwasher because Amazon said not to on the description. I don’t know if they can be frozen so I just put them in the fridge. But the bowl doesn’t stay cold as long as my old freezer versions.

Simple & Elegant Bowls - bonus that they keep food hot or cold

These bowls look very elegant but are very simple, as well. I got the 2.25 quart bowl and the 1 quart bowl (which nest together perfectly) and gave them for a wedding gift. I spent less than $40 for the pair, but they look like I spent a lot more. They look simple and modern when used with simple/modern dishes and more elegant when used with silver or fancier dishes.The recipients really like the bowls and use them a lot. They use the smaller one for dips and the larger one for chips or other things. They do keep food hot or cold for awhile and don't tend to "sweat" on the table. I'm thinking of asking for 2 (or maybe 3) for Christmas for my own use.

Good for hot and cold, especially dips

Works good to keep cold dips cold and hot items warm. I purchased it primarily for outdoor parties and barbecues. I’ve used it for guacamole, salsa, crab dip, artichoke dip, queso dip and more.

Love, Love, Love these Bowls!

These bowls are a 10! I cannot believe how much I've used them and how well they work. We entertain a lot, and I am always bring something to a gathering. I have all three sizes. The 5 quart kept watermelon gazpacho cold outside in July! The 2-1/2 quart is perfect for potato salad or dessert for a crowd. The 1 quart is perfect for dips. Money well spent. Oh and they look like a million bucks on a buffet table. I plan to bring a hot spiked cider in the large one this weekend. Press n' Seal does not leave a mark on them.

Love the size of this bowl! Very generous and worth the money!

I liked this bowl but no where could I find directions on how to prep it. I was making a large fruit salad for a backyard party and I just didn't know what needed to be done - if anything - to get it cold. I ended up filling it with water and refrigerating it overnight. The bowl did seem to stay cold for the duration of the party. The bowl is very large which is exactly what I was looking for. Just wish I knew I was doing the right thing prior to using it.

Bottom of the bowl is dented.

Delivery is lightning fast! The item arrived around noon time on the day following confirmation of my order. This bowl is very large indeed and is exactly what I expected. I couldn't find any mixing bowl of any material bigger than 6 quarts and this one is claimed to be 8 quart, which I haven't verified though. The double wall, or insulated, design prevents it from burning your hands when you put in hot food, and it will not "sweat" if you put in cold stuff from the fridge. It doesn't make your food cold or hot, but keeps whatever you put in at its own temperature longer. I have another insulated stainless steel bowl of a similar design and have been using it for over ten years for mixing or serving purposes. I really like it and it receives compliments from my guests all the time. I therefore bought this new one because I want a bigger one. When I placed the order, I did not think about storage. Since the bowl is 12 5/8" in diameter and 7 1/8" high, it cannot be stored inside my upper kitchen cabinet of standard 12" deep together with other mixing bowls. I have to place it inside my extra deep pantry which has adjustable shelves. This large mixing bowl has a hammered exterior finish, while the smaller one I have has a smooth satin finish. The hammered finish has not been finely done and, in my opinion, it makes the bowl look a bit cheap. If I had the choice, I would prefer a smooth satin finish same as the old one I have. The old one I have was made in Malaysia and this new one was made in India. The overall finish and feel of this bowl are not of quality as good as my old one. There are a few dents on the inside of the bowl and a big part of the bottom is dented as shown in the photos. Although this is not visible when the bowl is full and placed upright, it is an indication of poor quality. Because of this, I will only use it as a mixing bowl and not for serving purposes. Overall, I give it only two stars.

Nice and heavy

Nice and heavy. Double wall seems a little on the thick side, about half an inch. A slightly thiner double wall construction might be more ergonomic, though I am not sure how that would affect it insulation.
