Pretty good but...

I was always forgetting to turn my sprinklers off so I got this. Just screw it on and then screw the hose into it. Easy. Turn the dial to length of time you want. It was a little difficult turning the dial - but not too bad. If you want to use the hose without a timer, turn the dial to the open indicator next to the Off indicator. Again, a little tight making it harder to turn - I was afraid I might break it. But it works. Negative - The first time I used it, I set it to water for 15 minutes. Worked like a charm. I thought this is great! Then the next time, I set it for 10 minutes and never went back to check it - figuring it would work. It didn't. For some reason, it never shut off. Right back where I started. Now, it has been working... but I always have to remember to check it just in case it doesn't shut off.

Water shortage, this helps

Got this for a fawcet beside the house. A gardner left water running, undiscovered for about 2 weeks. This should prevent that. Orbit makes good stuff. I have a huge irrigation system on a little over an acre and most of the fittings are Orbit.

Gets the watering done!

I previously had two of these Orbit units, and one still works great after 2+ years. Unfortunately, I foolishly left the other unit hooked up to the outside spigot but covered with an insulating wrap over the winter. Yes, that's why I bought two more of these units, with one being a spare. These units are basic watering hose timers with no batteries and LCDs. You may want something fancier, but these are reliable for our side and backyard.

Works well

Works well, no drips after shutting off. Hope it lasts as long as my previous one (5 plus years).

Convenient

I like that I can set it and I don't have to run back out there to immediately turn it off. Really helps with conserving water. I have the egg timer one and the digital one that you can set a time for it to come on and I like both of them for different areas. Would recommend.

Hard to connect. Poor flow

This was recommended on gardeners group I’m with. The star rating was not bad. It arrived quickly. Bad points: 1/ very hard to connect. Unless you have enough thread on the tap it won’t connect. I had to use an extra long connection to get a long enough thread. Using 2 rubber seals doesn’t work. I managed to connect it after a few weeks waiting for all the connections to arrive. 2/ once connected, the flow is weak. Considering this is the cold water mains it was almost half the strength. So it’s double the time to top up the pond. Not for me. I’m glad it works for others. I’m back to using my phone 10 min alarm????

I have tried so many connectors to this but it seems that perhaps there is a little bit of difference in connector sizes in Australia as I cannot get it to screw right up to the top thread and therefore it leaks. Does anyone have any ideas? This is the third tap timer I have purchased and still not getting a good result.

This hose timer works well

I have used several other hose timers and found that they last in the current application for about 18 months. I am hoping that the Orbit 62034 will last longer. It was deliver quickly and was easy to install. It has a well-defined opeation and has so far proved very reliable.

Great convenient tool, but not for Winter

Really good quality. Simple to install and even more simple to use. I have it on the hose that waters my garden and love it. I step outside, set the amount of time I want the water running and forget about it all until the following day. One word of caution... if you live in an area were temperature drop below freezing in the Winter, you'll either need to install these within an insulated enclosure or be ready to remove them for the Winter and put them back when temperatures return to above freezing. Both mine just broke apart as the a bit of water that remained in them froze and cracked them open.

The product is mid range for quality, but doesn't work with Australian plumbing threads.
