Nice But Size is Smaller than Stated

I purchased this set to replace the two I had bought many years ago, as I do like the look of the Petrageous Designs dog food bowls. However, I was very disappointed to see that these bowls do not accommodate 16 oz. of water as stated; rather, they barely hold 1-1/2 cups. The packaging is incorrect, so this isn't the fault of the description by Amazon, but instead by the manufacturer. Also, the taupe used to be more of a cream color, which I liked better. While I've decided to keep the diner because I like the look, I know I'll be nervously checking my dog's water bowl more often in fear that he's drunk it all. He's 21 pounds and has diabetes, so excessive water drinking is often a problem.

Super cute

Bought this to discourage a cat who like to drag her water bowl around. I finally got tired of running into it. I did purchase a matching mat for underneath but my problem is solved. The bowls are a little smaller than I would like. Not ideal for 2 cats, but it does the job. Update - cat learned to pull the bowl out of the stand. Still use it for dry food, but finally solved the problem with 8x8 Pyrex baking dish...

Perfect for our needs

We bought this pet dish set to keep the dog from splashing water and scooting the food bowl around the floor, and to raise the bowls a bit so it is more comfortable for him to eat. He is 14 years old and getting a bit stiff. For our purposes it works out great. Ours is a 10 lb. dog, about the size of an average cat. The dishes are 6" across not too deep so they work out well for him. I only have to change water once a day. The dishes are far enough apart that food doesn't get into the water making it funky.I really like that they are dishwasher and microwave safe because he is a small dog and he gets a few meals out of one can of food. I can warm his refrigerated food in the microwave making it nicer for him to eat rather than hard cold food. The weight and rubber tipped legs stay nicely in place when he eats and drinks. We have no mess to clean up. We are very happy and our "little old man" is happy!

Petrageous Designs Buddy's Best Pet Feeder, Taupe

FACTS & ONLY THE FACTS: I get tired of hearing how cute people's pets are, so this is what you need to know ... -The top of the bowls stand at 3.5 inches off the floor. -The inside measurement, from side to side of the rings that hold the bowls is 5.5 inches [this is important]. I'd have given this item 5 stars if I'd had a small dog, but I have a cat, and cats don't like sticking their faces in deep dishes [the dishes are made well, and heavy] to get their food [another FACT]. So, I only bought this unit for the holding rack, hoping that 2 of my FireKing dishes would fit these rings, and they do ... perfectly. It's important to change and clean your critters food and water bowl daily, and I now have an amble amount of my own dishes to use. So basically I bought this whole thing just for the rack, not the dishes. So if you're like me, and just want things squared away, and making your cats life a bit easier while eating ... then purchasing the rack and using your own dishes is the way to go.

I love them, and the dogs love them!

I have two mini schnauzers, and the feeders/bowls I had were rusting and falling apart. They just were not high on my list of things to buy. But, when I saw these, I thought the price was great, so I decided to give them a try. They are great--just the right height for my pups, and they immediately decided they were theirs! I was worried that after so long they would scoff at these. But it wasn't a problem. These are unobtrusive and much more attractive than the ones I had before. They are wide enough that they don't crowd their little faces when eating and drinking, and large enough for the amount of food they eat at one time. I ran them through the dishwasher before using them, and they came out sparkling. I would buy these again.

Good Purchase

I purchased this as a "used" option sold by Amazon Warehouse Deals. GREAT price and the product looks and performs as brand new. The description stated that it could have a few minor flaws. Heck, I'm just feeding my cat. She doesn't give a hoot whether or her dishes are pristine and/or flaw free. I would encourage anyone looking for pet dishes to explore this buying option. I'm glad I did! I believe I saved around 50% off the retail price. The dishes are the size I expected and they are "ceramic" type which I can easily pop into the dishwasher for easy cleaning. Love this product.

Very nice pet dish

We have a terrier, and these cleverly designed and well-made bowls do two things. They get the food and water up off the floor which seems to keep her from creating nearly as much of a mess around her eating area, and they are easy to clean. In addition, they have a heft and a non-slip coating on the rack that keeps her from nosing them around on her feeding mat. The color and glaze of the finish is highly polished and fairly attractive and unobtrusive (in the case of the taupe). They are probably not large enough for a dog over 50-60 pounds (depending on how many times you feed a day), but are just right for any dog over 12 pounds up to that weight. I can't imagine why they wouldn't be suitable for cats either. In summary, if you want to feed your small to medium sized dog indoors (we feed ours in the kitchen), these look good enough to not be off-putting to guests and hold both water and food, and are quite likely to cut down on the mess your pet makes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Good quality item, just too large for cats

I purchased this item as a replacement for an almost identical-looking Whisker City feeder after one of the bowls shattered. My primary requirement was that the bowls had tapered sides to avoid food getting caught in a crevice, and the Petrageous feeder delivered on that. The bowls are substantial and of good quality, but are honestly too large for my cats. It's my fault for not reading the fine print, but I wanted to share my experience in case others are looking for the same reason.
