Great as a replacement, or for a DIY system
I got this to create a DIY gravity system for my cnoc water bag and Katadyn be-free filter. These worked perfectly for me!

Slightly different
Probably deserved 5 stars anyway, but the blue connector does not appear to be as heavy duty looking as the one pictured. The gray one is fine, and the blue one should have looked the same but with a female thread, it doesn't. It should work adequately however, but still, they should update their picture so as to reflect what they actually send you.

Appearantly there is a lot to say about this item.
Works with my CamelBak perfectly. This item is exactly as described. It successfully adapts an existing hydration system hose for use with the screw on filter from the Sawyer Squeeze Filter System. Of all the Hydration Pack Adapters for Screw On Filter that I've ever owned, this is by far the most adapterist. This plastic, what is it? It's like gold, it's so nice. But it's not gold colored. It's gray and blue, like the two sides of the American Civil War. The dirty grays, with their backward, disease ridden ways and the pure blues with their superior technology, meet on the field of battle that is the Sawyer Squeeze Filter. We all know how that battle will turn out. Without these adapters, the two sides of this battle could not even meet each other. And without the battle, the grays win. Things fall apart. The center can not hold. We all die. These aren't just little plastic extrusions, they are saving lives, and maybe even civilization as we know it. On second thought, the word "extrusion" is probably an insult. I think they were machined by NASA engineers, because there is no way injection molding would ever come out this clean and precise and just physically beautiful. Honestly, I'd call tehm works of art, and I should know, because I was an art major. Sometimes I just sit and stare at my Hydration Pack Adapters for Screw On Filter and cry, because I know I'll never produce anything this awesome, and it reminds me of just how much of a failure I am. Honestly, it makes me question my worth as a human being. God, I love these things.

Great for my application!
I am using these products for a different application than most. These two components are going into my bug out bag. The gray end with male threads will be used as a cap for my Saywer Mini. I simply used a pliers to bend the end together and then melted it closed over a candle. I want my Sawyer Mini capped after use so that potentially contaminated water does not get all over my water preparation kit and cause cross contamination. I would rather be safe than sorry in this regard. The male threads fit right inside of my Sawyer Mini. I am also carrying a couple of standard soda bottles in my kit. They are lightweight and durable. One is for collecting water (green Mountain Dew bottle) and the other is for water I made safe to drink. The blue adapter threads onto the clean water bottle, and I attached small piece of the straw that came with the Sawyer Mini to the adapter. That is the device I will use to back flush my filter in the field. As far as others using these filters to make a gravity feed system, I am can do the same thing by simply threading my Sawyer Mini to my dirty water bottle or use it like a Sawyer Squeeze.

Easily Convert to Gravity Filter
I used these to incorporate my Sawer Squeeze into a gravity filter. The male (threaded) piece is a bit difficult to add/remove in the field without it leaking, you a wrench to get it tight enough.

Nice and easy set up for my Sawyer
I already have a pair of these from a sawyer filter set I bought in the past. They work well with my Osprey hydration pack, as there is a quick release piece on it that I take off, and put these on to use my Sawyer filter with it. When I don't need the filter, I just screw these together and continue to use the hydration tube. Since I have more than one hydration pack, having a few of these, comes in handy to use on them.

Good addition to the Sawyer filtration system.
The filter and bag are designed so one holds the bag over the water bottle and squeezes the water through. If you carefully wiped off the bag before doing this then great but I wanted to use a piece of tubing like my PUR came with. This is why I wanted the blue part. The blue part attaches to the outflow and a tube, get a few feet at any hardware store, connects to the nipple. This way I can hold the bag off to the side of my water bottle and have no risk of dripping contaminated water into it. Well worth a few bucks and a tad more weight.

Very Useful.
This enables the Sawyer SP129 Squeezable Filter to be converted into a gravity or inline filter, which makes filtering larger amounts of water MUCH quicker and easier. Only 4 stars as expensive for a couple of bits of plastic, but very useful. Standard 6mm I.D. PVC tubing fits tightly but I found silicone better and more flexible.
