Satisfied with this product
I bought this kit because we are currently homeschooling, and my son wanted and expected school to include experiments. We have not completed all of the experiments yet, but my son (age 7) and I have really enjoyed doing them. So far, all of the experiments have worked as they should according to the instructions although we have needed to add more citric acid and sodium bicarb once or twice.

Almost perfect! Cheap cardboard needed to be plastic.
Pretty cool for your worm loving kid. BUT the entire thing doesn’t work because the much needed light blocker that you slide into place to get the worms to crawl to the window is made of cardboard and gets wet and then doesn’t fit as it shrinks. So now I guess we’re putting a paper bag over the things hoping for the best. So close, almost a perfect science time.

Cool project
Very cool idea and fun project. Kids love seeing the worms. The instructions that come with it are nice. This was interesting for me to see as well. Don't use potting soil with the worms. Try to use soil where you know worms already live. I used alternating layers of both and the worms avoided the potting soil like the plague.

Good quality; fun family project!
This ended up being a great gift for my 5 year old grandson but my 2 1/2 y.o. grandson didn't understand why the worms had to stay in the 'worm house'. All he wanted to do was hold the worms. His frustration about this limitation was through the roof (for all of us). It's a good product--well made with a great guide book that comes with--but just be aware that age 5 and up is ideal.

Bad plastic packaging box damaged
I bought this as a gift for 9 years old but it was packed in a plastic wrapper and the box is damaged with corners of the box paper scrapped off and sticker seal came out. Box looked old. Not recommended for gifts but own use is fine.
