Cute, different
Cute little decor item. I do think it is on the smaller side and not what I consider a "medium" size. The quality is about what I expect from Zilla products. I do think the green is a bit bright. I didn't notice any sharp edges that need to be filed down. I check everything before putting it into an enclosure and file down as necessary. I have not utilized the UVB detecting function. I don't want to pull it out and disturb anyone in their tank. But as a general rule I prefer to use different methods to measure my UVB>

Unique with a purpose!
The Zilla Rapid Sense Poplar Log is highly detailed and would be an uncommon addition to any terrarium. Unlike the Zilla Crocodile Cave, our Poplar Log felt a bit rough. I also feel this piece is closer to a size small. Beyond the Poplar Log being a cool-looking decor piece, it also can check your UV light. The rapid sense indicator located underneath can check the strength of your UV light in 30 seconds. The rapid sense indicator worked well and is an ingenious feature to me. By using this feature, we were able to determine our bulb needed replacing. The log also features black light reactive accents, but I was not able to test this feature.

"medium" is really small, UV sensor is underside so must flip to use
It resembles a moss covered birch/poplar log (okay branch), with a black-light turning it to a weird acid trip. If you like the design just know the medium is really only about 5-6 inches long and even the larger opening is barely 2 inches. In my book that would be a small at best. It is both too narrow and too short to be used even for a small tortoise despite that being in the picture. The sensor placement makes no sense as it is under the log, I really thought the green on the log was what gauged the UV, but that is on me for not seeing it clearly in the pictures. I guess the point is to check whenever you clean the terrarium. Either way it seems too pricey for a $5 sensor stuck to a cheap undersized fake log. There is nothing wrong with it other than the description should really have exact measurements, just for the price you could get better.

A little more small than medium
This is a cute natural looking item for your enclosure. I do like the sensor for the UV light but it's a bit of an inconvenience to flip it over to check it. Would have been nice to have a small sensor on the back side or something instead so you didn't have to pick it up. Seems to work like it's supposed to though. It's also a bit on the small side, but that being said it seems sturdy and nice quality.

Perfect Size For Geckos And Anoles
This is a nice sturdy item for your small reptile. It won't easily slide around, and it will give them a sense of privacy because they can climb inside and sleep. It has three openings for easy access. The size of the log is great for smaller reptiles like salamanders, geckos, and anoles. Baby iguanas and lizards will be able to enjoy this for a while, but they will eventually outgrow it and will only be able to climb on top of it. One of the things I like is that it has fluorescent accents that will glow under a black light, so it will add a unique touch to your pet's environment. Another perk of the log is that it has an indicator on the bottom of the log, and it can detect the amount of UVB levels that your pet is exposed to so that you can be sure it's the proper amount. It's a great way to know when it's time to change the bulb.

Looks cool, great for smaller reptiles
This is a nice little piece of decor for a small reptile. Perfect for my daughters small gecko. It looks pretty cool under the black lights and has an indicator on the bottom that let's you know when your pet is getting too much UV, which is a nice feature. It would be better if the indicator were on top. But it's still a decent quality decor item and it provides a nice place for the reptile to hide. Ours doesn't like to come out from underneath it sometimes, so I think he's a big fan.

Illogical Design
So first off, décor for reptile tanks is not cheap and this is definitely not cheap. It looks ok but a bit smaller than I thought it would be. The main draw for this is the UV senser to help you determine when to change out your UV bulb. Kind of silly that it is located on the underside of the log. You would need to pick up the log, turn it over and wait to see how it registers under the light. Wouldn’t it be better to have it on top so you could just keep an eye on it without disturbing the animal, just a thought, lol. It looks and works ok as a decoration or hiding spot but the main purpose for getting this seems to not have been very well thought out.

Small for a medium
I got this to use in my leopard gecko tank. It's a little small for Leonardo though. He can go inside it no problem but can't turn around easily in it so I can't put it against the glass like intended. The colors are also a little weird and look very unnatural. There's a UV sensor on it which is cool but it's on the bottom which makes checking it a little hard. Overall it's okay but just a little too small.
